The 'Hoff' returns in Knight Rider... but a new hero is in the driving seat
David Hasselhoff has returned in a remake of Knight Rider - but this time someone else gets the fast car. The former Baywatch star stood by the side of his successor, Justin Branning, who plays the estranged son of Michael Knight, Mike Traceur, in the new show, and handed over the reins to KITT. In the first episode, which premiered in the US last night, Traceur came face to face with his father when he turned up unannounced at his mother's funeral.

"Knight Rider" and "Tales of the Hoff"
NBC is bringing back "Knight Rider," tapping Doug Liman to produce a "Transformers"-inspired reworking of the 1980s hit action-drama series about a man and his indestructible supercar.  Peacock is readying a two-hour backdoor pilot for the project, with tentative plans to air it as a telepic later this season. As part of his divorce settlement with ex Pamela Bach, David Hasselhoff will maintain possession of his biggest asset -- his name.
