Christian Bale: More literally, Warner Bros. wants a statuette — or 10 — for “The Dark Knight.” So the studio plans to rerelease its blockbuster Batman sequel in January, the height of Academy Awards voting season. “It’s just a matter of bringing it back as a reminder for people,” a studio insider said. Warners domestic distribution president Dan Fellman acknowledged ongoing talks with Imax executives about the prospect of restoring the Christian Bale starrer to some number of giant-screen venues in January. It’s uncertain if “Dark Knight” also will reappear in conventional venues at that point. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film’s huge commercial and critical success has spurred tal

No Penguin in ‘Dark Knight’ Sequel?
The rumored casting of Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Phillip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin was said to be confirmed by Alfred himself Michael Caine while in Toronto. So is it true? MTV went straight to the source and asked Hoffman himself, he says no. “No one has talked to me about it ever — never,” replied Hoffman. “It happened, like, five years ago, too. It was a rumor back then and it’s still a rumor. [laughs] It’s just in the press. It’s funny.” If he’s officially offered the r

'Dark Knight' To Be Re-Released Come Awards Season

‘DARK KNIGHT’ EXCLUSIVE: Michael Caine Says Johnny Depp Is The Riddler, Philip Seymour Hoffman Is The Penguin
It’s one of the biggest — and most hotly debated — questions in fandom…which actors (and characters) will director Christopher Nolan enlist as a villain for his third “Batman” film? Rumors have abounded since the release of “The Dark Knight,” and Nolan has remained fiercely tight-lipped. But now, has one of his main players revealed some of the biggest casting news of the decade? In an interview with MTV News conducted just hours ago at the Toronto Film Festival, Michael Caine — there t

Fanboy Bites: 'Terminator Salvation', 'Star Trek' and 'Sherlock Holmes'
It's the end of the world as we know it ... and I have a good feeling about Chris Pine. Terminator Salvation: Will the Governator show up in the new Terminator film? While Arnold won't be officially reprising his role in the flesh, word has it the legendary action star turned Governor of California was on set providing voice work so that those Hollywood effects wizards could take his old face and put it on someone else's bulked-up body ... and still have the Arnold we all know and love. Arnold Meets Bale On “Terminator” Set, Will He Be Back?
It’s been assumed for some time now that the original Terminator would make an appearance (however so small) in McG’s big-budget sequel Terminator: Salvation, and we’ve just received our best evidence yet: this picture of a meeting of the minds between Salvation star Christian Bale and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. A source over at LatinoReview claims that “The premise of Arnie’s involvement is to have a fully rendered digital face of Arnie replacing the recently cast Roland

'Batman' Alumni Christian Bale & Arnold Schwarzenegger Step Out In Hollywood
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- It was a sci-fi lovers dream when Batman star Christian Bale stepped out for lunch with a former Batman baddie, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the Brentwood neighborhood of LA this past Sunday. Christian and Arnold have more in common than appearing in films about the caped-crusader. Arnold starred in "Terminator(s) 1, 2 & 3," pursuing Sarah Connor, then protecting a young John Connor (twice). Christian is currently filming the fourth installment in the series -- "Terminator: Sal

No TDK sequel???
HOLY unfinished trilogy—I can reveal that the sequel to this summer’s blockbuster Batman movie The Dark Knight may NEVER be made. Why? Because director Christopher Nolan doesn’t think he can do it without Heath Ledger. After Ledger’s death this year, Aaron Eckhart looked like being the new villain. But he’s let slip Nolan’s having second thoughts. Eckhart said: “Chris hasn’t said he’s going to make a third film. I think he wants to make other movies.” source wtf-ever. I don't believe

Batman: Michael Caine Confirms, Hoffman Denies
British actor Michael Caine has accidentally let slip one of the most anticipated casting questions of recent times, who will play the villain in the next Batman movie? Caine, who plays Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred in the updated franchise, discussed ‘The Dark Knight’ with MTV News at the Toronto Film Festival. “When Christopher [Nolan] said we were going to do ‘The Dark Knight’ next, I didn’t what that meant in Batman terms,” he explained.  ”I said, ‘What’s t

3 Of A Kind - Best Part 3s in Film History
With summer winding down and everyone taking stock, now is a good time to reflect on what comes next. The big story of the summer was of course the colossal success of The Dark Knight. But, with success comes possibly insurmountable expectations. Obviously Warner will get a third Batman film one way or another, but whether Chris Nolan, Christian Bale, and Gary Oldman will be involved Still Remains a mystery (come what may, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are sure to return). There has been talk that Nolan

Arnold Spotted With Christian Bale. Terminator Cameo?
So does this mean there is going to be a cameo from Arnold Schwarzenegger in the upcoming Terminator Salvation? Could be, but since the main photography happened in New Mexico, and this image was taken in Brentwood California, it’s more likely that there might be an Arnie voice over bit in the film. Dark Knight Returns for Oscar Run
Ok, so we loved The Dark Knight like everyone else. We saw it at the IMAX at an ungodly hour and all that. And we agree with all the early Oscar blather for Heath Ledger as the Joker, etc. But, just in case anyone missed it, or if certain people might forget it, Warner Bros. will be re-releasing Christopher Nolan's second Batman feature in January, at prime Oscar voting season, Reuters reports (via the NYT). It's unclear if the release will be nationwide, or just in theaters sure to draw Oscar voters, who

Schwarznegger gets some SALVATION?
Well it sucks to be actor Roland Kickinger if today’s unconfirmed reports over at Latino Review are to be believed. Only a few months ago, the bodybuilder got his big break in the film industry by landing the role of the T-800 in Terminator Salvation, essentially playing the Arnold Schwarznegger model from the original films but I just wonder if he knew this would be there plan all along. It’s a shame that they are doing this. Hasn’t the Bond and the Batman franchises taught Warner Bros.

Schwarzenegger In Terminator Salvation?
Regular readers of MovieBlaze will know by now that I’ m not the kind of person to chuck around rumour and hearsay willy-nilly. No, i like to deal in cold, hard facts (mostly!) but this little titbit of information (gleamed from the good people at www.zimbio.com) has piqued my interest. Terminator Salvation star Christian Bale has been seen chatting with the original T-800, Arnold Schwarzenegger, on the set of McG’s hotly anticipated flick. Clearly, such a momentous meeting has fuelled s

Christian Bale being a DILF
Christian Bale seemed to be the picture of domestic bliss on Saturday afternoon in Santa Monica, CA. In the morning, the humble actor kept it casual as he stopped in at a local Ralph’s to pick up some necessities for the day to come. Later in the afternoon he played the role of super dad as he stopped at a nearby house to pick up his adorably precocious daughter Emmeline from a pool party. The duo seemed very happy to see one another, smiling as they made their way to the car. Christian kept a hold on h
