Danny Elfman is scoring THE WOLFMAN!!!
Hey folks, Harry here... Some nice folk at Universal just gave me a ring-a-ling to drop note that Danny Elfman is scoring THE WOLFMAN! Oddly enough - I was watching NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS on Blu-Ray - which has a stop-motion animated WOLFMAN and well... That music isn't at all right for this WOLFMAN. However, Danny Elfman... he could be awesomely perfect for this. He can give the gypsies their beat & jingle. He can give the moors their eeriness. And he can give the night air its menace - the moon its lo
Danny Elfman Scoring Benicio Del Toro's The Wolf Man
Sure it may just be a simple scoring announcement, but it is some of the best news today. Harry from AICN announces that Danny Elfman has been hired to score Joe Johnston's upcoming Wolf Man movie with Benicio Del Toro. Elfman is one of everyone's favorite composers who has created the iconic sound for films like Tim Burton's Batman, Nightmare Before Christmas, Men in Black, Spider-Man, and most recently, Hellboy II. This is great news because I do think Elfman is the perfect choice for The Wolf Man.

‘Che’ = ‘Havana’s Gate’
Call it Havana’s Gate. Steven Soderbergh’s elephantine account of the rise and deification of revolutionary icon Ernesto (Che) Guevara could prove as deadly to the director’s career as Heaven’s Gate was to Michael Cimino’s. Running a bladder-bursting 4 hours and 22 minutes (split over two parts), it reeks of authenticity but also self-indulgence. A potentially great performance by Benicio Del Toro in the title role is buried beneath Soderbergh’s stylistic tics and an almo
POLL: Will the two-film release strategy for ‘Che’ help or hinder its Oscar chances?
I’ve been rather low on the Oscar prospects for “Che” for a while. I’m not sure why. It was, of course, extremely divisive out of Cannes. The festival’s jury president had to even step in and defend its value amid the turbulence. But beyond Benicio Del Toro’s Best Actor bid, I haven’t been able to go along with major awards hopes.
Part of that had to do with distribution. No takers. But we always figured on the film being released as two entities (being

While that factor might disqualify him as a Jew according to certain stringent disciples of the faith, others will probably welcome his insight. International "Che" Trailer, Clip and New Cannes Poster
Set to be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, Stephen Soderbergh's Che will once again attempt to find distribution either as a four hour complete film or in its two parts (The Argentine and Guerilla). If the film is able to find distribution it may be able to find its way into enough theaters this year to qualify for the 2008 awards season, but it is going to be a close call.

Soderbergh's 'Che' gets slammed at Cannes
A rough, uncut version of Steven Soderbergh's highly anticipated movie about legendary Argentine revolutionary and guerrilla fighter Ernesto "Che" Guevara (starring Benicio Del Toro, Franka Potente and Julia Ormond) did not impress critics at Cannes this week.
Some critics faulted the film, which runs more than four hours, for not having a subplot, and complained that the Commandante appears diminished, if anything, by Soderbergh's interpretation.
"No doubt it will be back to the drawing board for 'Ch

Apparently there's some secret love in the air!
Eyewitness reports are suggesting that a supposedly innocent dinner in Los Angeles last week wasn't so innocent after all! Onlookers are reporting (and by that we mean more than just one gossip-monger) that there was a certain sizzle between the pair, and that there was "chemistry" between the two actors.
A diner reported:
He whispered into her ear, and she listened with rapt attention. He brushed his hand on her back. They had nice chemistry.
