The Best Films of 2008: A movie trivia post! :D
It's the end of the year, and we're all bored and maybe a little hung over and probably broke from the holidays. It's been a slow news day and it's a Sunday with nothing to do, so I got bored and decided to make a movie trivia post! I've seen them on ONTD before, but I decided to only pick trivia tidbits from Moviephone's 50 Best Movies of 2008, instead of picking random titles as others have done in the past. Because all of these movies are new, not every single one has trivia or they have very little, but
Best And Worst Science Fiction Movies Of 2008 [Io9 2008 Year In Review]
This wasn't just the year that science fiction dominated the movies — it also featured an amazing diversity of SF stories. Here's our list of the greatest — and most horrendous — films of 2008.Okay, so here are the movies that blew us away and horrified us this year:BEST:10. Let The Right One In. This intense, beautiful Swedish movie about a 12-year-old boy's relationship with a vampire did the near-impossible: it almost made us forget the blah Twilight. It's a parable of the world-destroying power of
Box Office Predictions (September 26-28)
The big opening film this weekend will be Shia LaBeouf’s action/thriller, Eagle Eye. LaBeouf teams up again with D.J. Caruso hoping they can recapture the success they had with Disturbia. There’s no doubt Eagle Eye will open at #1 in the box office this weekend… but how much will it make? Also starring are Michelle Monoghan, Rosario Dawson, and Billy Bob Thornton. Opening in over 3,000 locations, the question is whether or not Eagle Eye can top the $30 million mark.

'Nights in Rodanthe' swamped by sappy romance
There's still plenty of charm in romantically pairing Richard Gere and Diane Lane. The "Unfaithful" cast mates can still play flirty and cute with the best of them.
And the stark, windswept beauty of North Carolina's Outer Banks makes a grand setting for a big-screen romance.
Ah, but the corn grows high in those sand dunes in Nicholas Sparks' "Nights in Rodanthe." The movie version of "Nights" begins with such promise before it drowns in the romance novelist's sentimentality.

Diane Lane & Richard Gere: Onscreen Couple Once Again
The first film that had actors Diane Lane and Richard Gere working together was back in 1984 in The Cotton Club. Since then, the two were paired up in Unfaithful in 2002 and six years later, the two are now promoting their new film, a romantic comedy, Nights in Rodanthe.
Based on a novel by The Notebook author Nicholas Sparks, the film has Lane and Gere playing star-crossed lovers. According to Diane, their experience as on-screen lovers was helpful, "We get better at not bumping teeth when we kiss, which

How (And Why) Did George C. Wolfe Get Involved With Nights In Rodanthe?
This weekend brings Nights in Rodanthe to theaters. It's an unapologetic tearjerker, a love story starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane (click here for Rex Reed's review), based on a Nicholas Sparks novel and directed by...George C. Wolfe?
It's certainly not an obvious partnership. After all, Mr. Wolfe has made his reputation as being an edgy and inventive playwright (The Colored Museum, Spunk, Jelly's Last Jam), theater director (he staged Tony Kushner's Angels in America for which he won the Tony), and p
Director is the real villain in 'The Spirit'
This is what "Sin City" would have looked like without the restraining hand of codirector Robert Rodriguez behind the camera. And "300," shorn of Zack Snyder's reality? It might have had the same expressionist flourishes, the loony, loopy excesses of "The Spirit," also known as "Frank Miller Run Amok."
'The Spirit,' 'Seven Pounds' and 'Revolutionary Road': A Taxonomy of Trash [Rants]
Though Hollywood reserves the holiday movie season for its annual harvest of ambition, prestige and clout, even the most painstaking Oscar husbandry can often fail. For three much-anticipated films in particular, the damage varies. So Bad it's Good:The Spirit (Dec. 25). Perhaps it's best to know as little as possible going into this adaptation of Will Eisner's classic 1940s comic series, written and directed by Eisner acolyte Frank Miller in the arresting visual style of his debut (with Robert Rodriguez) Sin

Gere stunned by Lane chemistry
Actor Richard Gere is surprised by his onscreen chemistry with regular movie co-star Diane Lane - because they hardly talk.
In shore romance, Lane & Gere are just coasting
There's nothing wrong with some indulgent escapism, of course, and if that's what you're looking for you could certainly do worse. Diane Lane plays Adrienne Willis, a weary, fortysomething mother with two demanding children and a useless husband (Christopher Meloni).
What she needs, obviously, is a vacation. And maybe another good thing would be a steamy fling with a guy who looks like Richard Gere.
Fortunately, her best friend, Jean (Viola Davis), just happens to own a seaside inn in Rodanthe, N.C.
