Review: Four Christmases
Last November, Warner Bros. released Fred Claus, a Christmas-set comedy pairing up lead Vince Vaughn with Rachel Weisz.
This November, New Line released Four Christmases, a Christmas-set comedy pairing up lead Vince Vaughn with Reese Witherspoon.
Mere coincidence, you might ask, despite the fact that New Line is owned by Warner Brothers, not to mention the shared initials of both the titles and the actresses playing the love interests? Perhaps, but happenstance loses my vote when the best one can say for

Reese Witherspoon Brings 'Christmas' to L.A.
Reese Witherspoon premiered her festive holiday flick 'Four Christmases' at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in L.A. Thursday night, and she spoke to "The Insider"'s Victoria Recano about her experience working with co-star Vince Vaughn.
One minor problem for Reese during filming was the actors' height difference!
"Yeah he's 6'5 and I’m 5'2," she tells us, "so every time I even had to give him a hug it was like nearly impossible I came up to his knees."

The /Filmcast: After Dark is a recording of what happens right after The /Filmcast is over, when the kids have gone to bed and the guys feel free to speak whatever is on their minds. In other words, it’s the leftover and disorganized ramblings, mindfarts, and brain diarrhea from The /Filmcast, all in one convenient audio file. In this episode, Dave, Peter, Devindra, and Adam are joined by special guest director Seth Gordon to chat about The King of Kong, Four Christmases, and the art of filmmaking. Thanks

'Christmases' vs. 'Holidays': The Winter Family Comedy War Looms
Feel that chill in the air? That's because you left the kitchen window open -- go on, I'll wait -- but that secondary chill you're feeling would be the multiplex yuletide season turning in our direction, ready and waiting to melt the bleep out of your heart. Last year, it was This Christmas and The Perfect Holiday begging to be mistaken for one another (in title, not in quality).
This year we've got at least two winter-themed family-minded dramedies waiting in the wings. First out the gate is Nothing Like
Twilight beats Vince Vaughn & Reese Witherspoon in Four Christmases at b.o.
"It's too soon to call the weekend movie wise based just on Wednesday's grosses. But the expected frontrunner, Four Christmases, came in at #2 with $6 million. Twilight was #1 with $8 million. The surprise is that Australia was #7.

'Four Christmases' Trailer is Pukable
In the grand tradition of Meet the Fockers, The In-Laws, Monster-in-Law, et al, Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, Mary Steenburgen, and Jon Voight join the ranks of aging celebrities exploited as wacky in-laws in Four Christmases, a movie you'll probably be forced to watch with your family this Christmas. In this grating ensemble comedy, Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn play a couple forced, for reasons not entirely explained, to consecutively visit each of their zany divorced parents over the holidays. Trailer for 'Four Christmases' debuts on Web
Just like every year in the U.S., the first Christmas flicks start hitting theaters in November already (don't ask me why). One of them this year is Seth Gordon's "Four Christmases," in which Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon play a couple struggling to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas Day.
Although this trailer did not really win me over, I have to admit Vaughn and Witherspoon look like a solid enough team to handle this kind of cheap screwball comedy. Robert Duvall, Jon Favreau, Mary

REESE GOES GLAM IN L.A.
Reese Witherspoon was a vision in midnight blue as she arrived at the premiere of Four Christmases at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood on Thursday.
Joined by her co-stars Kristin Chenoweth, Sissy Spacek and Mary Steenburgen, it was a full-fledged estrogenfest on the red carpet as the holiday flick’s headlining star Vince Vaughn was nowhere to be seen.
This will clearly not help those rumours that he and Reese did not get along — at all — on the set.

'Twilight' Beats Wednesday Opening of 'Four Christmases' To Lead Thanksgiving Box Office; 'Australia' Debuts Distant #7
THURSDAY EARLY AM: For this 5-day Thanksgiving holiday, it looks like Twilight and female tweens and teens will go together like turkey and pumpkin pie. It's too soon to call the weekend movie-wise based just on Wednesday's grosses. But the expected frontrunner, New Line/Warner Bros' sour Four Christmases, came in only No. 2 with $6M from 3,310 theaters behind $8M from 3,419 venues for Summit Entertainment's no-sex, no-violence, no-stars vampire romance that should spend another weekend No. 1. An Arbitrary Guide To This (Holiday) Weekend’s New Releases
It’s not quite as crowded as last year’s Thanksgiving weekend, but between four new releases and a strong slate of holdovers, there should be something for everyone on one of the biggest movie-going weekends this side of the summer.
For action fans, there’s Transporter 3 (assuming you’ve already seen Quantum of Solace), which should make for an entertaining if derivative shoot ‘em up. I’d probably be more excited to see this if it didn’t sound so much like Crank (s
In Theaters This Week: Nov. 26, 2008
I love the holidays, because we don’t have to wait until Friday for the new movies to be released. They’re usually in theaters on Wednesday, which is ultra-cool. Here’s what’s new this week:
Four Christmases. Grounded by bad weather, Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn end up in their worst nightmare - spending the holidays with their families. I love both of these actors, so even though I’ve heard not-all-good reviews of this movie, I’ll definitely be seeing it. [Gecko
