First he said he did, then he said he didn't, now Keith Richards has confessed that he actually did snort his father's ashes – but only a little bit. Steve Foley, R.I.P. [Obituaries]
Steve Foley, who was The Replacements' final drummer—he played with the group on its last tour in 1990-91, replacing Chris Mars—died last weekend of an accidental prescription-medication overdose. I wasn't a big fan of Jim Walsh's 2007 oral history of the band, All Over But the Shouting, but Foley's contributions to the story were affecting and thoughtful, and clear-eyed about the band's legacy and his own role in it.
