Steven Spielberg, Dreamworks Sued For Disturbia’s Similarities to Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window

The basis of a new lawsuit alleges that producer Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks lifted the plot, characters and protagonist for their 2007 hit, Disturbia, from the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock classic Rear Window. More specifically, the lawsuit claims that Spielberg and Co. should have sought the rights to the short story, “Murder From a Fixed Viewpoint,” the source material from which the Hitchcock film was adapted.

Spielberg Sued For Imitating Hitchcock
Reuters reported this week that the owners of the short story that inspired Alfred Hitchock’s 1954 film Rear Window are suing Steven Spielberg, Dreamworks, its parent company Viacom Inc, and Universal Pictures. Steven Speilberg/Peter Jackson 'Tintin' Movie Now Looking For More Cash Cash
I just heard that Universal has declined to exercise an option to co-finance DreamWorks' Tintin with Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson set to begin filming in October. The decision was quietly made a few weeks ago. So now DreamWorks will look only to owner Paramount for the rest of the moolah in the same way the two shared financing on Dreamgirls and Tranformers. I say the live action pic sounds like an expensive but safe bet, considering that the beloved Belgian boy is a worldwide phenomenon and two o
