Bruce Springsteen: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are set to perform during Super Bowl XLIII’s halftime show on February 1st, 2009, in Tampa, Florida. Springsteen will be the fifth veteran act in a row at the Super Bowl. Bruce Springsteen: Bruce Springsteen confirmed as Super Bowl halftime show headliner
Apparently the Page Six rumors were true: Bruce Springsteen is indeed headlining the Super Bowl halftime show in February. I’m guessing he wasn’t brought on for his album of Pete Seeger covers, or anything recorded after 1987, so, like Prince and Tom Petty before him, he’ll be playing to the geezers in attendance and at home (what, Buddy Holly wasn’t available? What, too soon?). [Stereogum] Posted in: Bruce Springsteen
