Josh Brolin: Actor Josh Brolin, in Shreveport starring in director-producer Oliver Stone's "W.", was arrested early today during a bar fight at a downtown Shreveport nightspot.

According to Shreveport Police patrol report, officers were called to the Stray Cat bar in the 200 block of Travis Street just after 2 a.m. to deal with a rowdy patron.

As more officers arrived, several other patrons at the bar, including Brolin and fellow actor Jeffrey Wright, 42, tried to impede the officers, the report said. In all, the report named 10 officers called to the ruckus.

Brolin, Wright and four other people were charged with interfering with police, a misdemeanor. Brolin was booked into the city jail, and posted $334 cash bond to be released.

Detective Rod Demery, working as Shreveport Police Department public information officer over the weekend, said sending officers to handle unruly bar patrons isn't unusual.

"It's a common call we receive quite often," he said. And as for celebrity of the patrons involved, "it doesn't play any role in decision making."

Arrested on the same charge as Brolin, 40, of Los Angeles, and Wright, 42, of who plays General Colin Powell in "W.", were Evan C. Bates, 26, of Torrance, Calif.; Cherilyn Young, 36, of Austin, Texas; Amy Draughn, 33; and Ismael Martinez, 28, of El Paso, Texas. Bates, Martinez and Young also were booked into the city jail with bonds also set at $334 each.

Draughn and Wright were not listed in the city booking computer late today.

''Where is George Bush's bedroom?'' Oliver Stone is flinging open French doors inside an enormous brick man¬sion in Shreveport, La., inspecting loca¬tions for his new film about the 43rd President of the United States. Shooting begins in less than two weeks on W (or dub-ya, as it's spelled out in the initial sketches for the poster), but

From American gangster to George Bush: Josh Brolin's transformation into the President
He's the leader of the free world – and one of the most controversial presidents the USA has ever seen. And now George W Bush is to be immortalized on celluloid – in an Oliver Stone film. Brolin to play Snake Plisskin?
This is PURELY a rumor, understand that, but it's a good rumor, one that works for me, so I'll run it... Coming from a French Spielberg fansite is the gossip that Josh Brolin might strap on the eyepatch to play the legendary SNAKE PLISSKIN in the remake of ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK. "I thought you were dead," you might say to this movie... Think again. Now you won't be able to read the whole article unless you're French, but apparently when translated the juicy part goes something like this: "It is our scoop

Oliver Stone to trace George W. Bush's path from 'alcoholic bum' to president in controversial new biopic
Director Oliver Stone is set to make his most controversial film yet - a biopic of U.S. President George W. Bush. The liberal film-maker, who caused a storm with his study of John F Kennedy's assassination in JFK in 1991, and also upset many Americans four years later with his verdict on Richard Nixon, titled simply Nixon, is to give his film the shortest title yet, W. An outspoken critic of Bush's policies and the war in Iraq, he has cast No Country For Old Men star Josh Brolin as the man who becom

Rumor Mill: Has Terminator 4 been Terminated?
Has Terminator 4 been Terminated? UGO’s Movie Blog claims that a crew member “was recently overheard discussing his newfound free schedule due to the production shutting down.” For now we’ll mark this rumor as unconfirmed and hope for clarification, confirmation, or denial from the Halcyon Company in the coming days. I was actually pretty excited for the fourth film in the franchise. The producers involved seemed to have a clearly laid out plan for a new trilogy. And while many have prune-faced d

Newton And Gruffudd In Stone's W
Oliver Stone's W, the story of the formative years and early experiences in office of one George W. Bush, landed some further cast members today, in the shapely shapes of Ioan Gruffudd and Thandie Newton. Newton will play Condoleeza Rice, Bush's National Security Adviser turned Secretary of State, who apparently plays a key role in certain early Iraq-related scenes, while Gruffudd will play Tony Blair, a firm Bush ally in the Iraq War. Josh Brolin's already been cast as Dubya himself, with Elizabeth

Tom Hanks vs. Nicholson, Mortensen, Brolin, Nolte and More...
Just yesterday I posted an article about the SAG/AFTRA strike potential for the very first time and one thing I mentioned was how Tom Hanks added his name to a petition calling on actors to endorse a deal reached by AFTRA. "The Hollywood Reporter" made a big deal about it, but I guess Hanks's pull in Hollywood may not be what it used to be, or what THR thinks it may be as USA Today is now reporting that Jack Nicholson, Viggo Mortensen, Nick Nolte, Josh Brolin, and Rosanna and Patricia Arquette and other act

Who said you can't get anywhere being rude and obnoxious? Sacha Baron Cohen, the irreverent creator of "Borat," was one of 105 people asked to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Monday, Agence France-Presse reported. Also on the List was Marion Cotillard, who won an Oscar this year for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in "La Vie en Rose"; Josh Brolin, who starred in "No Country for Old Men" and is playing President Bush in Oliver Stone's forthcoming film "W"; the martial arts master Jet

Hollywood Stars Mourn Heston
In life, Charlton Heston was undeniably polarizing. His death, however, turned out to be quite the bipartisan affair. Famous faces from both ends of the political spectrum turned up to honor the late great actor at his Los Angeles-area funeral Saturday, where roughly 300 people, among them politicians, actors and family members, turned up to pay their respects. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a onetime costar and protégé of Heston, and former first lady Nancy Reagan—escorted by Heston's former Nationa

Schwarzenegger won't rule out Terminator 5
Action man-turned-California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has given TERMINATOR fans the hope that he could return for a fourth film - if it's shot in his adopted state. The Austrian-born superstar isn't involved in Terminator 4, which will star Pathfinder actress Moon Bloodgood and Christian Bale, but he insists he hasn't ruled out a return to the franchise. He says, "I've never had a dialogue with anyone about it. But if they shoot the movie in California, I would (be a part of it), yes." Charli
