John McCain: We thought we spied Bristol Palin's baby daddy -- or fiancé, since parents say the two plan to wed -- live on MSNBC, standing in line shaking hands with John McCain as he stepped off his plane at the airport in Minneapolis a short time ago. And it turns out we did. Here's Levi Johnston and Bristol, chatting with the Republican presidential candidate. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her entire family met McCain upon his arrival at the airport. By Robyn Beck, AFP/Getty Images Posted at 01:33 PM/ET, September 03, 2008 in Hot shots | Permalink

Lesbian Scientistics: TV Characters on the issues
Last week, when Republican presidential nominee John McCain named Sarah Palin as his running mate, reporters and bloggers immediately began calling the Alaskan governor a Tina Fey look-alike. Just the mention of Fey in relation to the White House sent millions of people into fantasy overload as they began pondering what Fey's 30 Rock character, Liz Lemon, would make of being America's vice president. Fantasizing about a fictional character as vice president is ridiculous, of course. If you're going to f

Bristol Palin Levi Johnston “Bristol” Tattoo Pictures
Wow-these Palins are looking more wholesome and “conservative” by the hour. Levi Johnston, the 18-year-old “redneck” who fathered Governor Sarah Palin’s unborn grandchild, debuted a tattoo on his left ring finger reading “Bristol,” the name of Palin’s oldest daughter, at the Republican National Convention Wednesday night. Bristol, 17, was at the GOP Convention to watch her mother accept the Republican nomination for Vice President.

The National: Fake Empire (Ad for Obama Camaign) (Video)
John McCain may have the little dude from Big & Rich in his back pocket, but Obama has always had the market cornered on cool musician celebrity endorsers: Bob Dylan, Wilco, Cool Kids, Ludacris, and, uh, Toby Keith. The National have joined the cool kids (the only scheduled pun for this post) in endorsing Obama, at least musically, as an instrumental verson of their song “Fake Empire” was used as background music to an Obama campaign ad in Colorado during the run-up to the Democratic Party c

Ben Stein Repulsed By Sarah Palin, Thinks Henry Kissinger Should ‘Babysit’ Her
Here’s teevee’s Ben Stein, the funny conservative author and Nixon/Ford speechwriter best known for that game show and yelling at Matthew Broderick in the 1980s. He is not impressed with Sarah Palin. Oprah! In final talks! To be on 30 Rock! She'll play herself in scenes with Tina Fey's character Liz Lemon. Will Arnett and Jennifer Aniston are also making appearances on the show this fall. The bad news? The season premiere doesn't air until October 30. [E!]Paris Hilton has "manipulated" the Toronto Film Festival to get more publicity for a documentary about herself. Obama adviser on GOP: 'Heat, no light'
Senior Obama adviser David Axelrod told reporters Thursday that the Republicans are trying to avoid a campaign on the issues by focusing on personalities and attacking Obama. Axelrod called Gov. Sarah Palin's speech's and those given by other Republicans "phenomenal." But not in the good way. "Not one serious word about the state of the economy," he said aboard Obama's campaign plane. But, he added, "What are they going to talk about? Eight years of peace and prosperity? "We've heard again and again

Barack Obama’s Camp Reacts To Sarah Palin’s RNC Speech
Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama's political campaign released a statement to ET, reacting to Sarah Palin's fiery VP acceptance speech made Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention. Campaign spokesman Bill Burton released this statement to ET: "The speech that Governor Palin gave was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush's speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we've heard from George Bush for the last eight years. If Governor Pal

Ron Fournier's Brand of Associated Press Coverage: Bash Obama, Praise McCain
'An Associated Press analysis of Barack Obama's widely praised (across the political spectrum) speech last Thursday drew much criticism from liberals and media critics last week for its dour tone. Would the AP offer the same kind of muted response to Sarah Palin's big address on Wednesday night? Not exactly. The article by Tom Raum and Liz Sidoti opened: "Sarah Palin delivered. An embattled vice presidential candidate, a novice on the national stage, the head of a family suffering its &#

McCain Threatens Legal Action Over Palin "Rumors"
As we all saw in the case of John Edwards, which we followed quite vocally, if theNational Enquirer is on to something they're like a pitbull that's bitten into a leg — you can't shake it off! And, whether or you liked their tactics or not, the Enquirer DID reveal the truth in the Edwards mistress case, although they're not always right. The tabloid has asserted that Alaska's lipstick wearing pitbull of a governor allegedly had an affair with her snowmobile racing husband's business partner. The J

I miss the media-friendly John McCain - VIDEOS
Filed under: News, OpEd, Saturday Night Live, Video, The Daily Show, Reality-FreeOn the eve of John McCain's speech to the RNC tonight, the New York Times has an article about how the Arizona senator has gone on the attack against the news media, who at one time he openly courted. For example, he threw a birthday party for himself at the 2004 RNC, which was attended by a number of members of the media elite. But I don't care about how McCain treated the news media then compared to what he does now (well, I

POLITICS: SARAH PALIN’S RNC SPEECH
Presidential candidate John McCain, 72, is the first Republican to share the ticket with a woman and only the second presidential candidate from a major party to do so. With all the recent media attention surrounding her, Palin told the RNC she is not going to Washington to seek the approval of the media but rather to “serve the people of this country”. 20 CommentsCOMMENT? Bristol Palin, Alaska's poster teen-mother
Sarah and Todd Palin insisted they wanted to protect the privacy of their 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, even as they announced on Labor Day that she is pregnant. Then Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston, the 18-year-old father-to-be, arrived at the Minneapolis airport today for the Palin family greeting of Sen. John McCain, the presidential nominee-to-be of the Republican Party. Levi Johnston's appearance is as public a statement as possible that he plans to step up to the plate: The couple w

Minneapolis: My Dad, Your Dad
"There are a few things you need to know about my dad, and one of them is that he would make a great president." I am reading aloud. In the annals of Minneapolis book parties (a history with negligible noteworthiness, trust me), there will never be a book party like this again. Joel Stein, the occasionally revered/occasionally ridiculed Time columnist, is sitting next to me for these the first lines of My Dad, John McCain, Meghan McCain's children's book released Wednesday. The author is nowhere in sight,

Sarah Palin’s Baby Talk
A little slow at the beginning, but a very strong speech, well-delivered. It’s as if she’s done this speechmaking thing before. The crowd is certainly behind her, and the fiance is on the stage with the whole family—and with John McCain. It’s like they’re taunting the press and the Democrats to go on with the baby-talk. As I’ve said, I don’t think they believe this hurts them. Sarah Palin is hard to dislike… Share and Enjoy: Posted:

Sarah Palin's Speech: Full Of LIES!
The Associated Press closely watched Governor Sarah Palin, the GOP's VP pick, at last night's RNC convention and has outlined the many ways she exaggerated and lied. Right or Left, a lie is a lie. It doesn't matter where on the political spectrum you are, right? These are not 'personal' digs, mind you. She's lying on the 'professional' stage, y'all. Check out Pinocchio Palin's claims and the truth: Palin: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending … and championed reform t

Palin: Obama's three responses
Sarah Palin's coming out party has changed the dynamics of the race--and while the maxim is that veep nominees don't alter the fundamental electoral equation, there is no doubt that Palin's speech Wednesday night in St. Paul has the Obama campaign revving up the Payback Machine. Here are some of the things it's doing: 1) Immediate comment. Last night, the campaign sent out this statement from spokesman Bill Burton: "The speech that Governor Palin gave was well delivered, but it was written by George

Heidi Montag ‘can’t believe’ she’s not McCain’s running mate
Heidi Montag, who has declared her support for John McCain, jokes that she’s “really hurt” she was passed over as the Republican presidential candidate’s running mate. “I can’t believe it,” she kidded with Extra. “Blondes have more fun. Bristol Palin & Levi Johnston’s Baby Pics Are Scary
So, I’m tired this morning. All that Democrat bashing and baby hair licking at the Republican National Convention last night kept me up late. Since I can’t get productive until this Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte kicks in (yes, they are back!), I decided to peruse the interwebs for awhile. And boy did I find a gem. Want to know what your baby would look like if you could somehow seduce Brad Pitt or Michael Jackson? Want to know if you and the BF are gonna have ugly children? What about the ex and h
