Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld Walk Into a Shoe Store

Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld go to Shoe Circus - VIDEO

We talked about this when they announced that Jerry Seinfeld had signed on to promote Windows for Microsoft. If you were watching the big NFL kickoff Thursday night, you might have seen what that looked like. If you missed it, it's embedded after the jump. Gabe probably doesn't think it's funny, but the first of the Microsoft ads starring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld and directed by Michel Gondry aired last night. It's one of those little short film vignette commercials that seem to have nothing to do with the product being advertised. I think it's funny:
It's as if Michel Gondry directed part of a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode.

Seinfeld, Bill Gates Waste 90 Seconds Not Talking About Microsoft [Advertising]
Less than two weeks after Microsoft confirmed that it had picked the Mac-loving Jerry Seinfeld as its new endorser, this ad with Seinfeld and Bill Gates is everywhere. And it is awful. I mean, it's kind of engaging to see this half-billionaire comedian kicking it in a shoe store with the many-billionaire Microsoft nerd-in-chief; but up until the final seconds, I was convinced this was an ad for Payless. And I may be stupid, but I'm still your target audience, Microsoft. Surely Sarah Silverman and Willie Nel
Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates Microsoft Ad
Microsoft released their first ad co-starring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld. It’s not funny. It’s not entertaining. It’s a waste of money. Jerry got paid $10, and Microsoft plans to spend $300 million on the campaign. Jerry’s fine, but Microsoft really need to fire their ad agency and hire a new one.
Steve Jobs will always be the cooler geek Bill.

Time to start the finger-pointing again. A class at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has begun to track the carbon footprint of different lifestyle in different nations. And the picture painted for the U.S. isn’t pretty: Even the most power conscious people in this country use more than twice the energy of the average person around the world. So Jerry Seinfeld, who I’m sorry, IS JUST NOT THAT FUNNY, is now the new spokesperson for Microsoft, doing some major damage control for the crapfest commonly known as Windows Vista.
Jerry’s going to be getting a whopping $10 million dollars for this sweet little gig, in which he’ll be appearing with Microsoft CEO Bill Gates in a series of ads. The ads will be focused on the catchphrase “Windows not Walls” in order to demonstrate that yes, Vista sucks, but look at this here p

His generosity didn't stop there.
