With that song, I was reading a magazine and opened it up to a picture of either Scarlett Johansson or Megan Fox, and I turned to my boyfriend and said, "You know, if they walked through the door and asked me to pucker up, I would just do it."STEVE MILLERQ:When was the last time you sang one of your songs in a karaoke bar?A: We were playing a gig in Detroit and we were back at the hotel and my band foisted me onstage with the club band to sing "Abracadabra." They were just real pissed off. They had no idea who I was. They thought I was some drunk. I kind of like it that way.DAVID COOKQ: Do you think there's a "From David to David" movie in your future?A: I implore somebody to tell me where that plot goes.BOB MOULDQ: What's the most rock 'n' roll thing you ever did?A: I don't know. I hate tour buses. They're sort of weird. The first rule is you don't s- on the bus. So I prefer to rent a Cadillac and drive myself to shows. It's just a lot more civilized.Q: And where do you go in the Cadillac?A: You pull over.ESTELLEQ: Did Kanye West insist on wearing your fur coat in the "American Boy" video?A: I have no say on Kanye's whole fashion or any of his decisions. He just liked it, so he wore it. He looked good.GLEN CAMPBELLQ: Do you know how I can get a copy of your mug shot?A: Boy, did that scare the hell out of me. I quit drinking, I can tell you that.DUFFYQ: You're always wearing short dresses. Are there any good revealing pictures of you on the Internet?A: Lucky for me, that hasn't happened. I was in a photo shoot and I was lying in bed and the assistant photographer was prettying up the sheets around me and he pulled the sheets down and they got way more than I wanted. So there could be some emerging.Q: That's great news.KT TUNSTALLQ: Have you ever considered cutting out the middleman and writing your own romantic comedy?A: What, so I can just do the soundtrack? I haven't, but that's a really good idea. I much prefer the music gets used on a TV program (rather) than selling tampons or something.Q: Actually, I think I heard "Hold On" in a tampon commercial today.A: Oh, come on. That was Leona Lewis'"Bleeding Love."KATIE WHITE of THE TING TINGSQ: How do just the two of you make so much noise?A: We shout a lot.BOY GEORGEQ: Will your fans recognize you when you walk out onstage on this tour?A: Well, aside from my many hideous disfigurements and lack of teeth, I still polish up quite nicely.CLAY AIKENQ: Why do so many people hate you?A: I have no idea why they hate me, and I sure don't have any idea why they love me. I'm completely clueless all the way around. In some ways, I'm sure, to a lot of people I represent that dorky kid in high school and middle school that everybody thought was a loser. And now there are plenty of people in the world who are bitter because that dorky kid became successful and they did not. It's kind of threatening when that nerdy guy you've been making fun of for all those years has somehow become famous.BELINDA CARLISLEQ: In the '80s, you used to have drugs sent by FedEx to all your tour stops. Who knew you were so rock 'n' roll?A: Oh, yeah. I could have done anything back then. I took advantage of being young and wealthy and having no responsibilities. I like to think I left no stone unturned.GAVIN ROSSDALEQ: Tell me a good story about Bush's touring days.A: It just was this nonstop cyclone, where you're just bouncing around in the bubble you move in. It's just so fun and self-indulgent and exhilarating. We were playing five, six nights a week and traipsing through the snow in Canada and then playing in South Beach, where it's 90 degrees and the water is like a bath. And then to play New York at CBGB's, you know, all these incredible landmarks. There were people everywhere: people running after the bus, people waiting outside after the shows, people waiting at the hotels. All-night noise. It was, like, 10 years of that.ADELEQ: Is your hair as unruly as it looks?A: My hair is so hard to control. It's huge.Q: You could do the old Amy Winehouse.A: I used to do a Minnie Mouse bow, but then I saw it on TV and thought, "Oh my God! I'm going to get ridiculed." I wish she didn't have a beehive, because then I'd have it.Q: At least that would stop people from calling you Duffy.A: I refer to myself as Duffy sometimes.NAT WOLFF, NAKED BROTHERS BANDQ: How often do you get mistaken for The Jonas Brothers?A: It's happened once or twice, but not that much. I had it one time. This kid was just sure we were The Jonas Brothers.Q: How often do you get mistaken for Hannah Montana?A: Not too much, surprisingly.PAUL WELLERQ: If you could go back, what would you say to yourself when you started out in 1977?A: From my standpoint now? Just keep on keeping on. Through the good times and the bad, you just have to keep at it. But I kind of knew that. There was always a pretty strong work ethic in what I do anyway. I think even at 18 or 19 I thought I wanted to improve as a songwriter and get better at my craft. That hasn't really changed.Q: So you wouldn't maybe say, "Try not to wear a loincloth in The Style Council promo photos in 1984"?A: No, not at all. I would be all for it.SARAH McLACHLANQ: If you type your name into YouTube, you'll find that people use your songs for everything from funerals to puppy baths.A: This is why I don't go on YouTube.Noel Gallagher of OASISQ:Have you ever suggested to Liam that he make a bit more effort onstage, maybe watch a few old Rolling Stones videos?A: God, have you seen that film "Shine a Light"? Well, Mick Jagger takes it to the next level, man. It's ludicrous. But, no, Liam's turned the standing-still thing into a bit of an art form. We can't all be jumping around like Jumping Jack Flash, can we? Would it work if Liam was like Mick Jagger? No, it wouldn't.PATTI SMITHQ: You were the last person to play at CBGB's. What do you miss about it?A: Nothing. I remember going to Europe, and everyone would come up to me and tell me how great they thought CBGB's was. I remember thinking, "Don't be intimidated by it.
