Bill Murray Game for ‘Ghostbusters 3’!
We can all breathe a little bit easier today — Bill Murray has given his blessing to Ghostbusters 3. When the update/reboot, to be penned by The Office's Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, was confirmed earlier this month, it was also announced that there'd be roles for the entire original cast. We weren't quite sure if Murray would be game, seeing as he's the only truly in-demand actor left in the bunch (with apologies to Ernie Hudson). But at Fantastic Fest yesterday, where he was to plug his new mo

Bill Murray Talks “Ghostbusters 3″!
Ghostbusters 3 has officially moved from dream to definite possibility: Bill Murray broke his silence on the long-rumored third installment at last night’s Fantastic Fest, and you can watch what he had to say above (the good part starts 5 minutes in). Among other things, Bill tells the Austin crowd how much fun he had making the first Ghostbusters, and how the first 40-45 minutes of the film are “about as fun as movies get” (I’d tend to agree). That said, the second movie lost him w

Bill Murray Up For ‘Ghostbusters 3’
It seems as though speculation surrounding a third Ghostbusters movie has been doing the rounds ever since the credits rolled on Ghostbusters 2. What seemed to be holding up the possibility of the project getting off the ground was the lack of enthusiasm expressed by the original cast members. At the beginning of August came news that Ghostbusters 3 would be going ahead, but rather than Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Ackroyd, and Ernie Hudson starring, the original four would be handing over to a new gene

‘City of Ember’ Director Urges: Vote Bill Murray
This November, millions of voters will turn out to choose the next President of the United States. “City of Ember” director Gil Kenan just wants you to remember that you have more than two choices. “I’m hoping people write Bill Murray in as a candidate. I’m hoping we build a genuine groundswell and take back this country for the people,” he laughed. “Sometimes a little star power doesn’t hurt for electability. And, hey, he can’t do worse than anyone else.” Kenan is kidding

Bill Murray Prepping His Proton Pack For 'Ghostbusters 3?'
AUSTIN, Texas -- Bill Murray has made audiences laugh in dozens of films over his three-decade-plus career, but he says one stands above the rest. "I think the first 45 minutes of 'Ghostbusters' were about as funny as a movie gets," he told an audience at the Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, on Thursday. "We didn't have a lot of special effects then, just a couple. It was just the funny characters in that world." Bill Murray Thinks Ghostbusters 'Wounds Are Healed'
From what I understand, star Bill Murray was one of the main factors holding back a third GHOST BUSTERS film from happening. The reason given was the amount of money it would take to pay him, which is a load of crap considering the movies he has been in as of late. Last night at AICN's Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, Murray was on hand to talk about CITY OF EMBER, which closed the festival. During the Q+A session with the ex-Ghostbuster, he revealed some really, really interesting stuff, which leads me to

Ghostbusters III Bill Murray, Aykroyd, Rarmis
‘Ghostbusters III’ is in the works.  Columbia Pictures has hired two writers to pen the script for the third sequel.  Lee Eisenberg and his partner Gene Stupnitsky who have produced for the TV sitcom ‘The Office’ are drafting a rewrite.  The idea originally for a ‘GB3’ script was written by Dan Aykroyd who has been pushing producers for a ‘GB3’ during the past few years.  Aykroyd’s script for ‘GB3’ was considered too technical for producers.  The first ‘Ghostbusters’ film was

New Ghostbusters Movie: Yay? Yes, Yay!
Normally when '80s remake news makes its way to my computer screen, my knee-jerk reaction is something like, "People! Get some creativity and let that decade rest in peace already!" This morning, however, I read several confirmations that Ghostbusters 3 is in the works and surprised myself by feeling very, very excited. I think there are several reasons for this including: It has a good chance of not sucking, because it's in very capable hands. Two Emmy-nominated writers from The Office, Lee Eisenberg a

Iggy and the Stooges: Lists: NPR puts together the perfect 6:00 AM wake up call
When I think of something high energy to get me going in the A.M., NPR doesn't necessarily spring to mind. It seems, however, that the good folks who bring you All Songs Considered, Mountain Stage, and some really sweet concert podcasts know a thing or two about putting a little spark to the morning routine. Lars Gotrich offers an eclectic selection that ranges from Iggy and the Stooges to Screaming Females and "Japanese lords of the psychedelic freak-out" High Rise. The author also gets major pro

Via AICN, Bill Murray made a surprise visit to a screening of CITY OF EMBER at Fantastic Fest. Damn, of all the day and the events, it had to be the one I wasn’t able to attend. Anyways, he had a Q&A session and of course, it’s inevitable, somebody asked him about GHOSTBUSTERS 3 which recently hired the writers of the TV series The Office. This is basically what he said and he also warned the writers that it’s going to be a challenging task to accomplish but he does have confidence in

Bill Murray on Ghostbusters 3
There has been plenty of talk recently about a third Ghostbusters film, and whether or not some or all of the original cast would be back. With a script being written, Bill Murray was asked if he was interested. Turns out he kind of is. I really don't like the idea of the original cast being mentors of some kind. Get the originals back as the main Ghostbusters. It was only earlier this month, that we heard a Ghostbusters 3 script was being written. The writers of the US ver
