Article: Fire Destroys Pool House At Ludacris' Home

preview3.accesshollywood.com - 25th Sep 2008

Jonathan Mostow: Authorities say a fire destroyed a pool house at rapper Ludacris’ home outside Atlanta. Ludacris, whose real name is Christopher Bridges, was out of town at the time of the Wednesday night fire. Fulton County Fire Department spokesman Gregory Chambers says a relative was in the basement of the main residence when the fire started and was not injured. Chambers says the fire was put out within 30 minutes but destroyed the pool house, which he says is larger than most homes. The fire was being investigated but the cause was not immediately identified. Ludacris won a Grammy for best rap album for “Release Therapy” and best rap song for “Money Maker.”Copyright 2008 by Associated Press. All r

Fire Destroys Pool House at Luda-crib
A massive fire just destroyed an entire house on Ludacris' Atlanta estate -- but it was just the pool house, and no one was hurt. Of course, as the Fulton County Fire Dept. rep put it, Luda's pool house is larger than most normal houses, so it took a "significant fire" to destroy it. Luda was out of town at the time, and one family member was in the basement of the main house when the fire started. The fire was out after half an hour, says the FD. The structure reportedly burned completely down, even though the blaze was extinguished within a half-hour. Ludacris wasn’t home at the time of the incident. The pool house was described by a fire official as being larger than most average residences. Luda’s (Pool) House Burns Down
The recording artist, whose name is Christopher Bridges, was out of town at the time. A family member was in the basement of the main residence when the fire started, said Fulton County Fire Department spokesman Gregory Chambers. But it was a neighbor on DeMooney Road near College Park in south Fulton who initially reported the blaze, Chambers said. The alarm system in the rapper’s home was eventually triggered, alerting Ludacris’ relative. The fire — which destroyed the pool house — was put out w

Luda’s Pool House Engulfed in Flames
Ludacris’ pool house, which is bigger than most homes, was completely burnt to the ground last night. Fortunately, Luda is out of town (in NYC) and no injuries were reported. I wonder if Luda’s going to make it to his listening party in NYC tonight, or if he’s going to head back to ATL in response to the fire damage. Meet the Author! Name is Martine aka Tini.. Live in the FABULOUS NYC. Love to go out, hang out with my girls, go clubbin, and especially go out to eat :). Thanks so m

Exiled Teen's Bikini Leads To Threat Of A Beating [Dose Of Reality]

Marissa was sent away not because she's an intolerable brat, but because she has a failure-to-thrive condition, brought on by her parents' incessant babying of her. Marissa seemed sweeter than most of the kids seen so far on Exiled, and even she was pissed off that her parents ha

'The Simpsons': A Brief Profession of Love
After nearly 20 yeas on the air, there can’t be anyone who doesn’t know about The Simpsons. However, only the dedicated followers know all the intimate details that continue to make The Simpsons the most brilliant work of art in the history of entertainment. That’s right, The Simpsons is just the best thing ever. Fair-weather fans may talk about the “Golden Age” of The Simpsons, as if it’s long passed. There may have been some rough spots, particularly one year that involved a Simpso

Tabloid covers: Star says Suri is lonely, In Touch asks if Brad & Angelina have split
The tabloids for next week are out, and the cover stories aren’t centered on a single celebrity or couple and seem to be all over the place. Star Magazine focuses on Suri Cruise’s supposedly “Lonely Life” full of designer clothes, 200 dolls, nannies and maids. The magazine also claims to be privy to the “secrets” this barely verbal two and a half year old tells her dolls. Maybe my son took longer to talk than most but he wasn’t even speaking in full sentences at two

Emmys Recap: Big Night For ‘30 Rock’, ‘John Adams’
Thank you to Jane Boursow with Bravo Fan, Katelyn Thomas with Medium Dreams, Brian Allen with SF Universe, Mark Tafoya with the Culinary Media Network, Kristen Hains, @aflyonthewall, @moxygen, and @iluvariedana and others I missed who participated in the first b5 Emmys group live-blog tonight. We had a real blast — much more fun than most of the people who were forced to attend the show without the benefit of snarking, I think. On behalf of everyone who watched this, I make a few requests for future

The Week That Was…
We started the week in a reflective mode as we took time out to remember the untimely passing of Pac, sadly a day late but a lot sooner than most. Nate Dogg also made a splash in the media as we wish him a speedy and full recovery. On wider scope, the country (and rappers), rallied to recover after Hurricane Ike struck Texas and made his presence felt all the way up in the Mid-West. The Stock Market tanked as institutions that have been around since The Great Depression received a golden life raft from

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson @ Monolith 9.13.08
Miles was a great start to my Sunday. Not only was his band great, so were the two new songs that he played for us. One actually sounded better than most of the ones on his new album (which is full of great songs). Can’t wait for those to hit the internet. In fact, I’m fairly sure that WOXY or MOKB will have them up pretty quickly! | Tags: Uncategorized Previously on Picasso... Search YANP

A VERY Special Episode of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' (Very.)
I know, I know: Why would Cinematical be writing a story about It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? NO, there are no plans to turn this blisteringly funny little series into a movie -- at least none that I know of. I think I'll just extend the suspense a little longer... Is it because yours truly was born and raised (and is currently seated in front of a computer) in Philadelphia? Despite the fact that this wonderful city gave us Rocky, The Sixth Sense, and Mannequin 2: On the Move -- the answer is no: We're

Avi Arad to Produce Video Game movie ‘Mass Effect’ and other Marvel Films
There is some interesting news that has come out about producer Avi Arad and his future projects. It looks like he has optioned the rights to the video game ‘Mass Effect’ from Electronic Arts, and has started it’s journey to the big screen. Variety reports: Turning “Mass Effect” into a movie, or at least trying to do so, is pretty much a no-brainer. Even those who didn’t love it would have to admit that it has a lot more meat to its narrative than most games. You’v

Review: Towelhead
Like many films shown at Sundance this year, Towelhead combined different styles (humor and drama), but does it more successfully than most. It’s the story of a thirteen year old girl who is half Lebanese / half WASP whose physical development is quite ahead of her age. Towelhead (aka Nothing is Private) was written, directed and produced by Alan Ball, the same fellow who wrote the screenplay for the similarly themed American Beauty a few years ago. Expectedly, due to the content of this film, it has

Paris Hilton’s dogs were not eaten by a coyote!

Sunday Discussion: Where Have All the Indie Gems Gone?
As I sit here, under the awning of the famous Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas, I'm wondering why I haven't seen more indie gems. If you don't know what I mean by indie gems, let me give a quick explanation. I travel to film festivals all over the world all year long in search of independent films, created with budgets smaller than most college tuitions, that are phenomenal works of cinematic art. In essence, I'm looking for those movies to fall in love with, those little movies that hardly anyone knows ab

Satanic Panic Premiere Set
Word just came down from indie director Marc Selz that his latest contribution to our genre, Satanic Panic, is preparing for its world premiere screening in the small Illinois town of Wheeling. Since not much usually happens in the Midwest (I know, I used to live there), we’ve got to be sure we let you know when something finally does! Panic will have two screenings, one at 8 and one at 10, on Friday, November 28th at the Westin Chicago North, 601 Milwaukee Ave. Tickets will only set you back $5 a person

Taga Convertible Bike Stroller
The Taga is a Dutch designed bicycle which can be quickly converted to a standard stroller or a cart. It has a sleeker, lighter design than most of the carrier bicycles. And because of the quick compact fold can be taken into buildings, public transport, or even put into a car trunk. The many accessories will include a two child seat(similar to the Phil & Ted Vibe configuration), a car seat adapter, and shopping basket. The website isn't up and running yet, but keep checking back. This carrier bicycle l

4Moms Origami and Mamaroo
4Moms were nice enough to send me more information about the Origami and the Mamaroo. The reason that the Origami has a motorized fold is because in order for the stroller to fold into such a compact shape it would take too many manual steps. And there are sensors that prevent the stroller from folding on its own with a child in the seat. And despite the fact that the Origami has that motor with generator it is 20% lighter than most strollers in its class. The Origami is also customizable. You will have a

Styled Out: Wearing flannel with flair
I’m getting more and more into this onslaught of plaid as a fall trend. I feel like it’s giving lesbians a second shot at the print and we — more than most — need a chance at redeeming ourselves with this sometimes fashion faux pas. While it’s true that a lot of people wore the fabric back in ‘94, lesbians as a collective set themselves up to be fashion disasters in the area of flannel. I know that we ought to respect our elders, especially because those ladies helped pave the way
