Gambit: Cajun Thief By Day, 90s Go-Go Dancer By Night [X-Men Origins: Wolverine]
Why is Gambit dressed like a 90s stripper? Empire Magazine released a bunch of new X-Men Origins: Wolverine stills, and we got a closer look at Taylor Kitsch as the card dealing, explosion-causing, mutant Gambit. While I agree with this casting, I can't help but draw attention to the terrible wardrobe choice. Where does one even go to find a silky purple button-down shirt like that? Where is his trench coat? Someone give him a coat, and get him out of that velour vest thing. Yes, I know that Origins

First Look at Gambit in ‘Wolverine’
This is the first image of the much anticipated introduction of Gambit to the X-Men franchise played by Taylor Kitsch. This is taken from the upcoming film X-Men Origins: Wolverine.  Gambit first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #266 in August 1990. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artists Jim Lee and Mike Collins, Gambit is skilled in card throwing, hand-to-hand combat, the use of a b?, and possesses the ability to manipulate kinetic energy. A professional thief and self described ladies man, the characte

First Look at Gambit from X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Here’s your first look at the mutant character Gambit in the upcoming “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” played by Dane Cook — wait, that’s not Dane Cook! What the hell? Nope. That’s actually Taylor Kitsch, one of the stars of NBC’s football teen show Friday Night Lights. Yeah, Tim Riggins himself is Gambit, the card-throwing cajun from X-Men lore. Apparently when this image of Gambit showed up during a showing of the “Wolverine” trailer, audiences went batty. I

New Images Of Wolverine And Gambit From ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’
There was a lot for comics fans to give thanks for the last few days — especially for anyone interested in movie news about Marvel’s mutants. Last week we brought you the first word on a potential sequel to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” straight from the mouth of Logan himself, Hugh Jackman, and now we have a few new images of Jackman getting his rage on and giving his claws some air. Empire debuted the two images of Jackman as Wolverine in their latest issue, but cooked up an extra Th

First Look: Taylor Kitsch As Gambit In “Wolverine”
Empire Magazine’s January issue has the first official look at Taylor Kitsch’s Gambit in the upcoming Wolverine origin flick. It’s not exactly action-packed, but a genuine production still of the card-tossing Cajun ought to tide you over until we finally get a trailer for the movie attached to The Day the Earth Stood Still in two weeks. Plus, it sure beats more pictures of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine that might as well have been recycled straight from the X-Men 3 press tour. Related Posts:

Hugh Jackman as ‘Wolverine’ on Empire Cover
Along with gracing the cover with claws and mutton chops, Jackman gives some insight as to what fans can expect from the X-Men prequel: “There’s a scene in the first X-Men movie, where Wolverine’s introduced in a bar, fighting in a cage, and you felt that he did this every night of his life. If this movie is successful, you should feel that this guy can walk straight off the end of this film and into that bar.”  Jackman isn’t the only one talking for the cover article. The magazine

More Muscle From 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'
Well, Happy (Almost) Thanksgiving indeed. Between Australia and the flood of X-Men Origins: Wolverine news, you can't turn around without seeing Hugh Jackman's biceps somewhere this week ... not that I'm complaining. How did it take so long for him to be dubbed Sexiest Man Alive, anyway? The physique should have earned it twice over. Anyway, get a peek of Empire's new Wolverine cover, which will be on shelves in December. Click on him to get the whole thing, and tidbits like this from the magazine's tell-a

Wolvie strikes pose
Empire Online managed to get Hugh Jackman to strike a mancake pose as pissed off berserker Wolverine for their upcoming issue, which you can check out small sized to the right and can click through to check out berserker sized. They also have another picture of the adamantium clawed mutant inside, which you can check out courtesy of the IESB over HERE. The flick, of course, follows the origins of Wolvie, where he goes up against the likes of Sabertooth (Liev Schrieber), William Stryker (Danny Huston) and a

New Origins Images of Wolverine and Gambit Surface
X-Men Origins: Wolverine was the talk of Comic-con this summer after an impressive promo reel wowed the San Diego crowd. Expectations are high for the X-Men spin-off's release on May 1, 2009 and Hugh Jackman already hinted at the possibilities of a Wolverine sequel. He's currently on the road doing press for his romantic turn opposite Nicole Kidman in Australia, so we can probably expect some more Wolverine news to surface in the coming months. The new issue of British Movie Mag Empire has two new ph

Piping Hot Wolverine Pics
I like the shot where Wolverine and Sabretooth are tied to posts awaiting execution. I certainly don’t like that Sabretooth has short hair. So far as I can remember he always had long hair and looked like he listened to Sepultura. I don’t know if he got a haircut in the comics - but I’m not pleased about his lid. The word on the street regarding this film has been getting better as of late. A while back it was nothing but bad, now some positive buzz seems to be bubbling forth. Of cou

Kevin McKidd still Thor contender
Rome actor Kevin McKidd told IGN that he is still a contender for the lead role in Thor, and that there’s been “a lot of back and forth” about the project lately, however nothing has been determined. He acknowledged that Kenneth Branagh is directing it, a choice that makes him even more excited about the film. Kevin McKidd was apparently in the running for the role last year when Marvel were actively working on it. They stopped briefly to ee how Iron Man would get on, and are now aiming f

Empire’s New Cover Will Tear Your Damn Head Off
"I'm going to tear your goddamn head off." That is how the several minute clip ended at Comic-Con, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) making a friendly gesture of war to his arch nemesis Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber). The film is X-Men Origins: Wolverine, from director Gavin Hood, and it is the cover story ...

More 'Wolverine' Photos -- This Time With Sabretooth!
I know you're probably groaning at seeing yet another X-Men Origins: Wolverine post, but I can't help it! There's new pictures! And the photos are always so cool -- and yes, I am easily pleased when it comes to the admantium one ... and yes, at this point the movie could be Wolverine reading a phone book for 2 hours and I would probably count my money well spent. Anyway, 20th Century Fox has released five new images from Wolverine -- if you saw the bootleg ComicCon trailer, you'll recognize the image abo

The new Wolverine photo you haven’t seen yet.
I didn’t realize this, but apparently the makers of X-Men Origins: Wolverine are really capitalizing on star Hugh Jackman’s talents.
