Anna Wintour Just Isn't That Into You

Anna Wintour: Despite rumors of a Vogue cover, Britney Spears will not be shooting a spread for the fashion mag any time soon. Page Six’s old broad, Liz Smith, reported yesterday that Vogue photographer Patrick Demarchelier flew from London to LA just to shoot Britney for the cover of Vogue. A source at the magazine said there’s no way it would ever happen. Spears’ first and only appearance on a Vogue cover was back in November 2001 for an issue dedicated to American fashion (it hit stands just weeks after Sept. 11). The issue was a flop, according to the source. Editor-in-chief Anna Wintour “will never put her on the cover again,” the source says. “She’s just not a Vogue kind of girl.” A rep for the mag

Painting Of Anna Wintour Doubles As Anna Wintour Slam Book [Art]
100 or so people finally got to give notorious Vogue editor Anna Wintour a piece of their mind at Fashion Week. Well, via a painting at least. An artist named Geoffrey Raymond (who aims to become "the pre-eminent American portrait painter of the 21st century") painted what he calls "The Annotated Anna" and set it up at Bryant Park this week with a request for people to write a little note to The Devil Wears Prada inspiration. Oh, and you can buy it! (Hear that Anna?) Starting bid on eBay is $3,500. The arti

Anna Wintour running out of a fashion show!
We thought it was only professional tennis that got Anna Wintour's blood pumping. No so. Because when a runway show ends, there's only one means of making an exit: running. Here she is at Derek Lam. And there are reports of her sprinting out of Dennis Basso. source: Jossip.com Page 1 of 3<<[1] [2] [3] >> (Post a new comment) jennyherself 2008-09-10 10:12 pm UTC (link) lol is she literally ON the runway?? lol(Reply to this)(Thread)(Expand) (no subject) - stillinlove, 2008-09-10 10:13 p

Anna Wintour's Fashion Week Diary II: Update IV
12:39 p.m.: The Richard Chai show has ended, Anna having sported Chanel shades and BlackBerried people throughout. No applause from Ms. Wintour, either, which seems pretty mean. But then she did clap for second—only briefly, though, as Chai took a bow. She quickly turned on her favorite old heels and mounted a half-wind-sprint to beat the hoi polloi. Off to Oscar de la Renta, no doubt. 1:03 p.m.: Anna ran headlong into de la Renta! They are outside, chatting. PREVIOUSLY: Where's Wintour

Anna Wintour's Fashion Week Diary II: Update I
10:35 a.m.: Anna's seated in the front row at Micheal Kors, seated delicately between massive Andre Leon Talley and the elegant Grace Coddington. The glasses? They are stashed. The white trench is open and there is a green blouse of unknown origins. 10:53 a.m.: The show has ended (from what we could tell—we're not taking our eyes of Anna—it was good!). Kors has taken his curtain call, and Anna's being ushered off in a hurry by a bodyguard. Hot pursuit! PREVIOUSLY: Anna Wintour's Fashion Wee

Old Ladies Fight, Run The World, Despite Terrible Skin [Anna Wintour]
Anna Wintour is the scary domineering overlord of Vogue and, by extension, the entire fashion industry, but did you also know that she is quite old! Fifty-eight years, if you want to split one of the fabulous hairs on her perfectly bobbed head. This fascinating little tidbit was made abundantly clear by the Huffington Post, which for no apparent reason turned into WWTDD yesterday afternoon and posted large high-quality pictures of Wintour's 58-year-old skin. It's seems Vogue has lots of beauty secrets to sh

What Really Gets Anna Wintour Excited
No, it is not fashion that gets Anna Wintour excited. Fashion is work. Play? Now that excites the high-maintenance editor. At left, Ms. Wintour attends the U.S. Open on Sept. 2 to watch her BFF Roger Federer. She was also there yesterday (but why does NOBODY HAVE A PICTURE?), when Federer won his fifth straight U.S. Open title beating Andy Murray, after a spat of rain delayed the match; it also forced Wintour to miss the 5pm show from Proenza Schouler, the label she arguably put on the radar. But here is Wi

Anna Wintour's Favorite Dress Reemerges at Fashion Week
Remember that turquoise Oscar de la Renta dress that Anna Wintour wore to the U.S. Open, and Tommy Hilfiger's engagement party, and the Sex and the City premiere? Well, it's back! The lovely dress reappeared when Ms. Wintour sat in the front row of the Phillip Lim show on Wednesday and Mr. de la Renta's show right afterwards. And, we must say, the color really does bring out her eyes when they're not shielded by huge Chanel sunglasses! Perhaps Ms. Wintour is making an environmental statement about so-cal

Anna Wintour's Fashion Week Diary: Keeping Tabs
Fashion Week is still in full stride at the Bryant Park tents, and trust, there's much left to be seen. In a reprise of last season's sterling coverage, Radar's sent a diligent intern to find out where Vogue's own Anna Wintour's keeping company—and the manner in which she's keeping it. 10:13 a.m.: Anna just blew by us coming up the steps at the tents (alone!), wearing a white trench coat and some massive sunglasses. She is tiny. By Meg Prossnitz   09/10/08 10:55 AM File Under:

Loose Lips [Anna Wintour]
The Huffington Post, which was a news site last time we checked, has posted closeup photos of Anna Wintour in order to mock the Vogue editrix for her wrinkles. What's more, the story ran without a byline and those cowards at the HuffPo wouldn't tell the Observer who posted the offending snaps. Arianna Huffington, no spring chicken herself, should know better than to perpetrate girl on girl crime against another alpha female. • Jessica Simpson said she changed her cell phone number so exes can't get in tou

Britney Spears Is Not In Voque
The confusion began this morning when gossiper Liz Smith reported that “Vogue’s celebrated Patrick Demarchelier has come to the U.S. from London to photograph Britney Spears.” Sure he shoots for Vogue, but Spears must be posing for another magazine, a source tells me. Spears’ first and only appearance on a Vogue cover was back in November 2001 for an issue dedicated to American fashion (it hit stands just weeks after Sept. 11). Britney Spears: Not in Vogue
The confusion began when Liz Smith reported that Vogue’s Patrick Demarchelier “has come to the U.S. from London to photograph Britney Spears.” Sure, he shoots for Vogue, but Spears must be posing for another magazine, because as hot as she’s become lately, she’s still, well … not Vogue. See Exhibit A below … Britney Spears reacts to winning thrice at the VMAs. The former train wreck has been doing a lot better lately, but hasn’t quite returned to the leve

Britney Spears no aparecera Vogue magazine

Anna Wintour's Fashion Week Diary II: Update III
12:19 p.m.: Anna's just made her way into the Richard Chai show, and it must be said—we are only now noticing—that she is wearing the same nude slingback heels she's worn for three days (note to self: buy those). Also, there's a stunning gold watch on her wrist and the green dress fully unveiled and still of unknown origin. She's lost the shades. She smiled politely for the cameras, said hello to scribe Suzy Menkes, and took her seat, directly in front of Lisa Love of Teen Vogue and The Hills an

Is Calling A Woman A "Cougar" Grounds For A Court Case? [Age Old Questions]
G4 is a cable channel geared toward male viewers, and last year, on a program called Attack Of The Show, a segment called "The Great Cougar Hunt" featured three women allegedly trying to pick up younger men in a "world famous cougar hot spot." The ladies, who claim they were filmed without their consent, are pissed that they were branded as "cougars" on national television. TMZ reports that they're suing G4 and the hosts of the show for more than $1 million. The big question here is: Is calling a woman a "c

Match Point
Last night, Vogue cleared out the Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar to host a cocktail soirée in honor of Maria Sharapova's collaboration with Cole Haan. As it happened, the party coincided with Roger Federer's U.S. Open final match, and since it's no secret that many a Vogue staffer is an avowed Federer-phile, party chitchat was less hemlines and It bags, more volleys and backhands. "I'm trying to get my iPhone to download the game," confided senior accessories editor Filipa Fino, who shared hostessing

new britney photoshoot...to go where?
Speculation over Britney's mysterious photoshoot with fashion-photographer Patrick Demarchelier continues as reports from magazines are denied left and right. Breaking: 58-Year-Old Woman Not 25; Or 30; Or 40
Let it be known that the Huffington Post—you know, Arianna Huffington's news aggregator and blog network that optimistically values itself at $200 million—isn't above tearing out a page from Star or a traffic-driving trick from Perez Hilton. In an un-bylined post on the site's Media vertical headlined Anna Wintour Up Close (PHOTOS), we are treated to a particularly unflattering Associated Press photo of the Vogue editor at Thursday's Tommy Hilfiger show. It's a pretty textbook example of what many femi

McCain Links Obama to Toddler Sex
The newest misleading ad from Camp McCain says Barack Obama's "only accomplishment" is teaching kindergartners about sex "before (they) learn to read." They must be referring to that bill Obama didn't sponsor, but voted for, that "gave schools the ability to warn young children about inappropriate touching and sexual predators." Vogue's Second-in-Command Communicates Telepathically with the Mother Ship
Yesterday the big Vogue hotshot was Aliona Doletskaya, the editor over at the Russian edition, who managed to get a degree in comparative literature and namedrop the Byzantine era while setting up shoots and appearing at Fashion Week. If you think Doletskaya's job involves a near-superhuman level of commitment, Andre Leon Talley, the editor-at-large for Vogue, takes it one step further into the realm of the implausible: My secret is staying close to Anna Wintour, who is incredible as a boss as wel

New York Fugshion Week: Day Oh My God, We're So Close To Being Able To Put Up Our Feet (So, Six)
Let's see....what happened yesterday? We did not end up stuck in an elevator with Anna Wintour. (If this happens, I plan to talk to her about tennis.) We did not talk our ways into a cameo on Gossip Girl (I want to play the crafty blogger who makes out with Chuck as a way to help him make Blair jealous).  We did not trip out of our high heels and land in the laps of any luminaries. However, we did see this: "Hee hee! Tell me again how pretty I am, Mr de la Renta. TELL ME!" If you can only have one c

Where Will We See Britney’s Photoshoot Pics?
The speculation continues over Britney Spears’ photo shoot with Patrick Demarchelier yesterday in Bel-Air. The legendary photographer has shot for Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, and countless other leading fashion magazines, and now we’re left wondering which glossy will showcase pictures of the pop princess. E! Online reports that it won’t be Vogue, due to the reportedly disastrous 2001 cover featuring the pop singer. According to a source for E!, editor-in-chief Anna Wintour “will

Fashion Week Style: It's All Good At The Chanel Party [The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly]
It's not hard to believe that the guests at a party honoring Chanel (also, oddly, an after-party for The Duchess) would look decent — for one thing, they were probably wearing a lot of Chanel. But to have not even a single "Bad?" That's noteworthy. Sure, maybe not everyone hit Keira Knightley's heights or achieved Coco Rocha's level of chic, but from Anna Wintour to Melania Trump, there was nothing worse than a "meh" at New York's Cooper Square Hotel. The Goods and the Even Betters, after the jump.
