Barack Obama: Washington — President Barack Obama said Monday that the US economy will continue to lose jobs in coming months despite exiting a Recession, striking a cautious tone on Unemployment. "We anticipate that we're going to continue to see some job losses in the weeks and months to come," Obama said ahead of the release of Unemployment figures for October on Friday. Economic Indicators released last week indicated that the United States exited its Recession this summer, but Obama emphasized... Read full story at AFP

Writer challenges critics of Obama's style
Washington, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- One of the architects of President Obama's historic 2008 campaign win said saying Obama governs as an incrementalist instead of a visionary is preposterous. Former campaign manager David Plouffe told USA Today if Congress passes healthcare and energy reforms, "that story line will go away," "There's nothing incremental" about either initiative, he said in an interview with the newspaper published Wednesday. Plouffe's new book, "The Audacity to Win," was released...

'Obama, Obama, either with us or with them': PHOTO
That is not the chant I expected to hear today from Tehran. The Iranian opposition is continuing its very clever tactic of co-opting state-sanctioned protest events and turning them into anti-government Protests. Today is the 30th anniversary of the takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, and so opponents of the government joined in, and mixed in some “death to the dictator” chants along with the usual “death to the USA.” But, as several outlets have noted, and as the...

WaPo: Elections not a referendum on Obama, but …: PHOTO
The newspaper that tried mightily to sink Republican Bob McDonnell over a college thesis says today that his stomping of Creigh Deeds has nothing to do with the man living in the big White House over the northern border of Virginia.

'Change has come' ... or has it?
In the year since he was elected president , Barack Obama has revealed himself as one of the boldest leaders to occupy the Oval Office in the modern era. In that same year, Obama also has revealed himself to be an innately self-protective, constantly calibrating and, in some surprising ways, supremely conventional politician. So who is Barack Obama ? The drama of this presidency — in sharp relief with Wednesday’s one-year anniversary of his 2008 triumph — revolves around how...

Plouffe: Obama Campaign Energy Not -Transferable'
--> ABC News' Aaron Katersky reports: It was a rough night for Democrats who, one year ago, were triumphant in their quest for The White House.  The political operative largely responsible for President Obama's historic victory in 2008 told ABC News the energy of that campaign does not necessarily transfer to other Democrats. “It was hard to build the coalition we built,” said David Plouffe, Mr. Obama's campaign manager and author of the new book The Audacity to Win. ...

It's been a year since Obama ended racism!: PHOTO
One year ago, Barack Obama was elected President of the United States, effectively ending Racism in America. As an African-American, I can say this is has been an awesome year. Since Obama’s victory the prejudices and mistrust built up over four hundred years of racial oppression has seemed to vanish. Nobody ever questions my credentials or intellect anymore. I get along fabulously with police officers. And Obama even won a Nobel Peace Prize which allowed the entire country to feel proud...

Barack Obama Might Still Think He Could Be Governor Of New Jersey: VIDEO
RedState’s Moe Lane, an apparent male (?!), recorded a very flattering and pithy video message for President Obama, who, you’ll recall, famously lost New Jersey’s gubernatorial election last night. It’s very important that Moe Lane videotaped himself smugly intoning the words “No, you can’t” in what appears to be a sunken house boat because of so many reasons. [ RedState ]

Analysis: Elections not a referendum on Obama: PHOTO
Victories in New Jersey and Virginia Tuesday provided a major shot in the arm for the Republican Party heading into the 2010 Elections, but the Democratic losses of these two governorships should not be interpreted as a significant blow to President Obama.

Buying Itself Out of a Recession: Countries Ask How Germany Avoided Mass Unemployment
Germany, second only to China as the world's leading exporter of goods, has been particularly hard-hit by the collapse of global markets. But the mass Unemployment some had feared has failed to materialize. Labor experts in many countries are wondering how Germany has done it. Was Tuesday's Vote About Obama?
(Nov. 4) -- Forget what voters told exit pollsters. Tuesday's election is being analyzed as a referendum on President Obama. Republicans Bob McDonnell in Virginia and Chris Christie in New Jersey captured Governor's seats that were held by Democrats. Obama won both states a year ago. He campaigned hard for Gov. Jon Corzine in New Jersey and made appearances for Creigh Deeds late in the campaign, despite some bad blood between the Virginia Democrat's campaign and The White House. Many headlines...

San Francisco Won't Manhattanize Any Time Soon: PHOTO
Slow-growth advocates and preservationists should be pleased -- nothing will be getting built in San Francisco any time soon . Affordable housing activists and the unemployed, however, not so much. With projects currently on hold or in Foreclosure, banks not interested in financing new projects, a glut of vacant office space and mixed signals about Home Prices, it could be a while before the market picks up again. While broader Economic Indicators have improved somewhat, employment prospects...
