A Daily Show Addition- Rob Corddry's Wife Is Expecting
Rob Corddry, political correspondent for the Daily Show, isn't just waiting to see the outcome of the election in November. He is expecting changes in his own house. He and his wife are expecting their second daughter in November, and they are letting their two year old name her. Just kidding, could you imagine what she would want to name her? Rob said she is pretty set on either Freeka or Laurie Berkner. At least that's better than what he wanted to name her. He said that they may go wit

According to a report today by MediaWeek, the number of gays appearing on non-scripted TV is on the rise. Methinks you can chalk that up primarily to Bravo. This is in stark contrast to the declining number of gay characters on scripted television. The Media Week vid below, which is targeted primarily to advertisers is worth watching beca
Obama: Don't just 'get rid of one guy'
ESPANOLA, N.M. - Democrat Barack Obama said today that he was "ahead of the curve" in calling for more regulation of the financial industry and hammered Republican rival John McCain for being a longtime opponent of government intervention.
Appearing under a warm sun in this battleground state, Obama also mocked McCain's call today for the firing of the chairman of the Security and Exchange Commission and encouraged supporters to set their sights higher.
"In the next 47 days, you can fire the whole trick
Obama mocks McCain’s call to fire SEC chairman
AP - Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama promised new ideas Thursday to calm America’s financial meltdown and help struggling families avoid mortgage foreclosure, saying that "this is not a time for fear, it’s not a time for panic."
Obama also heaped criticism and sarcasm on Republican rival John McCain and mocked his promise to fire the head of the Securities and Exchange Commission if elected president.
"I think that’s all fine and good but here’s what I think," Obama sa

Streisand fundraiser raises millions for the Obama campaign
Endorsements from cooler music figures like the Decembrists, Jeff Tweedy, and Arcade Fire are nice, but Barbara Streisand puts people in the seats. The Funny Girl headlined a benefit for Barack Obama at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles on Tuesday, and the Democratic candidate added a cool nine million to his war chest. Attendees at the event included Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Ferrell, Jodie Foster and Jamie Lee Curtis as well as Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg, each of whom paid

Bonnie Fuller's Contradictory Campaign Advice for Obama
Bloggy Fuller's latest advice is for category leader Barack Obama, who she suggests should dump Joe Biden as his running mate and bring Hillary Clinton on the ticket. Also from the ill-advised tip jar: Run lots of ads against the McCain-Palin ticket. But also: "Be everywhere except a Hollywood bash. Barbra Streisand won't do anything for you but reinforce your 'elitist image.' Why aren't you in Galveston with the victims of Hurricane Ike?" Says Jossip fictional mascot Econ
Is Palin Falling Into the Obama Trap?
It wasn’t long ago that all sorts of voices on the right, not to mention from John McCain’s campaign itself, were shrieking about the media’s disproportionate coverage of the two major presidential candidates.
It was an utterly disingenuous ploy. Yes, the press was devoting vastly more ink and air-time to Barack Obama than John McCain, but they were merely feeding the public’s appetite: The guy with the fresh face attracts curiosity, which translates into big audiences and newsstand sales. Some of

On the Drilling Issue, the Democrats Are Still Losers
All spring and summer gas prices soared and the debate over energy policy played out on the front pages of newspapers across the country, with the Republicans unquestionably getting the better of it.
They deserve some credit for their strategic craftiness, but they wouldn’t have been nearly as successful in reducing so complicated an issue to the catchy slogan “Drill, baby, drill!” had it not been for the ample cooperation they received from tone-deaf and incoherent Democrats, who first failed to rec
Lindsay Lohan's dad fires back at Barack Obama
Michael Lohan called out the Barack Obama campaign after they passed on Lindsay Lohan's offer to host events for young voters. A source in the Democratic candidate's camp told the Chicago Sun-Times that Lindsay "''is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us.'' Michael had the following to say to TMZ:
"Everyone is entitled to an opinion and so is Obama and his staff. Then again, you know what they say about opinions. Unfortunately, for them, to make such a comment about my da

Michelle Obama Says “Don’t Vote Because She’s Cute”
Michelle Obama asked voters today to make their vote on the issues and not because they “like” someone or think they are “cute.”
“I’m talking about me,” she said with a smile, according to the AP.
Her remarks were made at women’s roundtable on the economy and she also made it clear that Obama is focused on equal pay, health care, affordable college, teacher recruitment and other issues of concern to women.

Obama & McCain on ‘60 Minutes’
‘60 Minutes” is taking the unusual step of devoting its entire broadcast on Sunday to profiles of John McCain and Barack Obama with fresh interviews.
Scott Pelley plans to interview McCain in Wisconsin today, at the same time Steve Kroft is interviewing Obama in Nevada.
The separate, 20-minute pieces will mix profile material with a snapshot of a moment in the campaign. Typically, “60 Minutes” segments are far shorter with longer lead times.

Michelle Obama To Ladies: I’m Hot, Sarah Palin Is A Fat Pig
No one likes Michelle Obama because she went to Princeton and then glibly took her degree “on the road,” back to Chicago, where she lived off of welfare, like a slob, up to and including this day. And she hates America! Well, Smartypants gave her “critics” — basically, Michelle Malkin and a few other losers — more reason to attack her today when she asked voters not to decide their vote based on, “she’s cute.” And as the AP tells us in an objective news
What John McCain and Barack Obama are buying on Google [Politics]
Google is the modern American voter's oracle, able to provide an answer — perhaps not always the correct one, but always an answer — to almost any question. And it's very important to both presidential campaigns that Google show links to their websites as the answers, a privilege for which they're willing to pay. Both the McCain and Obama teams buy sponsored links on the search terms they believe voters are likely to use. Hitwise, a Web research firm, helped us dig up the campaigns' most-used se
McCain Camp: Obama’s Spanish Ads Are Offensive
The McCain camp struck back at the Barack Obama’s ads in their attempt to tie John McCain to comments by conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

The statement indicated:”It is offensive and dishonest for Barack Obama to lie about John McCain’s record on immigration and years of support for the Hispanic community when it was Barack Obama himself who voted for ‘poison pill’ amendments t

Now Palin Out of U.N. Anti-Iran Rally, Too!
Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has been disinvited from a rally planned for Monday to protest Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's U.N. visit. Earlier in the week, Hillary Clinton dropped out of the event when Palin was added to the list of speakers. Now rally organizers have asked Palin to stay away, bowing to pressure from Jewish Democrats who argued that her presence would turn the event into a Republican political rally. (The McCain campaign had called for Senator Barack Obama to join Palin
Bill Clinton: Obama rides 'change' wave
The crisis on Wall Street could be helping Democrat Barack Obama regain some momentum in his race with Republican John McCain. So says Bill Clinton, the former president who presided over some good times.
"The latest polls had Senator Obama up a little bit,'' Clinton said in an interview with Maria Bartiromo on CNBC's Closing Bell. "I think partly that's a function of the current distress, economic distress because I think the more people worry about the current set of circumstances, the more likely they
