90210 The Bubble Recap, Kelly says Dylan is the father

www.newtotv.com - 17th Sep 2008

Jennie Garth: In “The Bubble” episode of The CW's new show 90210, the biggest scene is probably Kelly (Jennie Garth) and Brenda (Shannen Doherty) arguing over Kelly not being romantically over the father of her 4-year-old son Sammy, which it turns out is Dylan (played by Luke Perry in the Beverly Hills, 90210 series). More about this later. But before all that takes place, the show starts with Harry (Rob Estes) informing his daughter Annie (Shenae Grimes) that her drama teacher had a family emergency and won't be able to continue her duties. Unfortunately for Annie, Grandma Tabitha (Jessica Walters) eagerly volunteers for the job, because after all, she does have experience as a TV star from years gone by. Tabitha is ecstatic. 90210: ‘The Bubble’ Preview
Goodness gracious! The CW’s 90210 is really wracking up the views on YouTube for the three sneak peeks the network has uploaded for the next episode “The Bubble.” The overall winner when it comes to the number of look-sees? Clip Number Three, which features original Beverly Hills, 90210 cast members Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty together. Given their alleged bad history on the earlier show and over the subsequent years, I can totally understand the fascination with the duo. If you

90210 - Lucky Strike Recap
The second week of 90210, didn’t quite live up to the first ep, or maybe it did. It had a bit of a different feel than the first two-hour ep, but perhaps it was just getting into its stride and hunkering down for the long run. This review will be spoilery, so if you haven’t seen it yet, be warned. The main point of the show was all about family. Annie and Dixon’s (Shenea Grimes and Tristan Wilds) parents, Harry and Debbie (Rob Estes and Lori Laughlin), feel that they aren’t seein

90210: 1.01 ‘We’re Not in Kansas Anymore’ Review
Well, that wasn’t so bad. It wasn’t so good either, but at least I’m not blind or deaf after catching the series premiere of 90210, which The CW unwisely chose to air in the form of a too-long, two-hour, double-episode block. Aside from sparing me a couple of my senses, the network’s latest youth-oriented series accomplished something else. Less than two minutes in, the premiere made it very clear why the network didn’t send out press screeners. Who needs their overhyped sp

The 90210 Premiere: New Drama, Familiar Faces
Finally! The hype is over and we can get down to business. The new 90210 premiered Tuesday on the CW and it needed two hours to introduce new characters, reintroduce familiar ones and whip up a whole lot of drama. But this is not your big sister’s 90210, which became obvious less than five minutes into the show with a muted — but obvious — sex scene in the parking lot of West Beverly Hills High. That, and the eight mentions of the A-word, the six mentions of the B-word and so on. We̵

90210: 1.02 ‘The Jet Set’ Review
It’s common knowledge among serious TV watchers that you should try not to judge an entire series based only on a pilot or premiere episode, especially if the first installment doesn’t impress. As far as I’m concerned, 90210’s opener “We’re Not in Kansas Anymore” sits firmly in the middle of the road and is nothing to get excited about. The second episode, “The Jet Set,” is no better. Now that Annie’s in the high school musical, albeit only as a

Bowling, Booze and Broken Promise: Family Night on 90210
It was all about family on Tuesday’s episode of 90210 — and the drama that comes with it. New to the zip code that never met a dysfunctional family it didn’t like, Debbie Wilson (Lori Loughlin) started feeling tinges of empty nest syndrome, and decided to do what any Midwestern mom would do to bring her family together: go bowling. Annie (Shenae Grimes) was forced to cancel her date with the too-perfect Ty for family night. And brother Dixon (Tristan Wilds) had to bail on his friends who

The Shannen Doherty-Jennie Garth reunion? No big deal, and neither is racy knockoff "90210"
Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth generated a lot of buzz by reuniting in the spinoff of "Beverly Hills, 90210." But their scenes in the Tuesday premiere of "90210" were flimsy and forgettable. You know the routine: a lot of promotional heat precedes a tepid program. The new series, which The CW didn't screen for critics, was no big deal, either. Harry Wilson (Rob Estes) moved his family from Kansas to Beverly Hills, where he could watch over his hard-drinking actress mama, Tabitha (

Rob Estes in “90210″
For those of you who watched the premiere episode of the new 90210, you may have recognized a familiar face: Rob Estes. Rob Estes plays Harry Wilson in 90210, but was Jess’ father Jimmy on Gilmore Girls. In 90210, Rob Estes has a lead role as Harrison (Harry) Wilson, the father who takes his family from Kansas and moves to Beverly Hills. He’s the son of Tabitha Wilson and Kelly Taylor’s (Jennie Garth) old neighbor. He went to West Beverly Hills High and decides to accept a position there

'90210' redux: 2 fake 2 B real
Mean girls, cheating boys, oral sex, underage drinking, drug use and a plagiarism scandal. All this and lacrosse. That was just the first hour of CWs long-awaited “90210,” its reboot to the inexplicably beloved, long-running teen soap “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Just like the Aaron Spelling original, the pilot last night found two Midwestern teens, Dixon (Tristan Wilds, “The Wire”) and Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes, “Degrassi: The Next Generation”) moving to the na

First Look: New Cast of the 90210 Spinoff!
Looks like school’s back in session for the 90210 spinoff! The CW released a photo of the hot, new cast — (from left) Dustin Milligan, AnnaLynne McCord, Jessica Walter, Shenae Grimes, Tristan Wilds, Lori Loughlin, Ryan Eggold, Jessica Stroup and Michael Steger, but no Jennie Garth in sight, though the original Beverly Hills, 90210 star will be making special guest appearances as a guidance counselor on the spinoff. The spinoff centers around Shenae Grimes’s character Annie Mills and her family

New 90210 Has Serious Daddy Issues
When the CW introduced the cast of its understandably overhyped 90210 update yesterday at its upfront, something — or, rather, someone — was conspicuously absent. No, not Joe E. Tata — the show's freakin' patriarch! Yep, ignored amid all the hoopla at the quasi coming-out party was the fact that the core family, the Mills', is still without a father figure. Why? According to insiders, filling the role of Harry, pop to Dixon and Annie, and husband to Lori Loughlin's Debbie has been harder to do than

90210 Reviews!
90210 reviews are coming in Wednesday consistent with LALATE’s 90210 reviews late last night. LALATE’s review of 90210 following its premiere called the show amazing acting, horrible writing, predictable storylines, and bland stylin’. Now reviews today are saying exactly the same thing, that 90210 has too much on screen talent for a show that has dreadful writers and really no indication you are in 90210. For example, reviews out of Tampa Bay today say “the new version of 90210 is
