2008 Creative Arts Emmys Are For The Funny Ladies

Socialite Life - 14th Sep 2008

Kathy Griffin: Smart-ass comedians Kathy Griffin and Sarah Silverman won big at the Creative Arts Emmys. Griffin took home the trophy for best reality program for My Life On the D-List. Of her pointy gold statuette, Kathy said in her acceptance speech, "I would make love to this thing if I could." As for Silverman, she won a trophy for the ditty she wrote about her love affair with Matt Damon for her ex-boyfriend's talk show. In her speech, Sarah joked, "Thanks to the person for whom this whole video was made: Jimmy Kimmel, who broke my heart--ohh, who'll always have a place in my heart." I think we all know what ultimately did their relationship in. Featured in the gallery: Kathy Griffin, Sarah Silverman, Emily Osment, Chloe Sevigny, Cat Deeley, L Read full story at Socialite Life

Fashion Was All Over The Place At The Creative Arts Emmy Awards [The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly]
The Creative Arts Awards is one of those vague awards shows that no one really knows much about. The awards seem to be respectable — you get, like, Chloe Sevigny, Ira Glass and James Lipton — but also red-carpet fixtures like Kathy Griffin, various teen starlets and reality TV fixtures. The red carpet at LA's Nokia Live Theatre kind of mirrored this confusion — some people, like Jennifer Beals, looked Oscar-amazing; others were less than ready for Prime-Time, a few were just flat-out confusing — so

What was gay at "The Shmemmys"? Lots.
This weekend the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences held their annual Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards ... or, as they have been better known since Kathy Griffin vaulted them to the spotlight with her "suck it, Jesus!" acceptance speech last year, The Shmemmys. The event honors a host of behind-the-scenes talent and lower-profile categories ... although from the sounds of it, it may soon overshadow its behemoth big brother in terms of sheer character. The awards were co-hosted by Neil P

Congrats to Kathy Griffin!
My personal idol — well, okay, she’s kind of tied with Chelsea Handler right now — Kathy Griffin, won an Emmy for the second year in a row for her now-inappropriately named My Life on the D-List. I don’t care what anyone else says about you, Kathy — I think you’re a genius and a role model, and so do the Emmy voters. The vid above is of Kathy being a riot in the press room after winning. You’ll recall that last year, in her acceptance speech, Kathy told Jesus to suc
