Travis Barker: “I’m just thankful to be alive, I’ve always hated flying!”
Travis Barker who always has been afraid of flying, says he’s glad to be alive after suffering severe burns in a fiery plane crash last month that killed everybody except for himself and DJ AM.
“I hate planes,” Barker said in an interview. “My biggest fear ever is to be involved in a plane crash, so when that happened … well, I’m just thankful to be alive! I’m just grateful to be here at all.”

Ex-Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has spoken out for the first time since the Sept. 19 plane crash he and DJ AM survived but four others did not, saying he is just thankful to be alive.
Barker, 32, suffered third-degree burns, basically from his feet up to his waist, and on both hands. He is being treated at the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles.
"I'm so anxious to get out of here," Barker told Us magazine. "I've just been in surgery after surgery."
