Also, there’s totally a trend here of the long, loose, flowing dresses. What’s up with that? Part of me wonders if it isn’t a delayed fashi

That's a big difference between the East and the West. America Ferrera, Kate Bosworth, Natalie Portman, Jane Krakowski, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Fergie, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Taylor Swift, Debra Messing, and Tyra Banks all stepped out to attend the 2008 Glamour Woman of the Year Awards held at the Carnegie Hall.  Nicole obviously was

Yesterday the Glamour Magazine 2008 Women of the Year ceremony were held at Carnegie Hall in New York. The famous actresses Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman and America Ferrera were there. Powerful women like Tyra Banks, Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton also attended the huge gala. Fergie was surprisingly classy in a pretty dress but prettiest of them all was Sarah Michelle Gellar. If you could chose anyone, who would you pick as the woman of the year? Related articles:

Ladies First
"To borrow a phrase from Barack Obama, 'Yes, she can!'" said Glamour's editor-in-chief Cindi Leive, kicking off her magazine's 2008 Women of the Year Awards last night in New York. Politics were predictably in the air with several honorees still celebrating Obama's victory, and a bipartisan pair of barrier breakers, Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice, accepting awards alongside the likes of Nicole Kidman, Kara Walker, Tyra Banks, and Maureen Chiquet. The presenters weren't too shabby, either: Barbara W

Scarborough's "Girlfriend," Hillary, and Obama as "The Best Story"
Discussing the perceived bias against Sen. Hillary Clinton, Scarborough joked, "I love Hillary. She's my girlfriend. We don't like to talk about it much." (She already asked him to be her running mate.) Rather talked about the reason President-Elect Barack Obama got the most favorable coverage. "Journalism loves the new, and Obama was the new," he said. "Obama represents something newsworthy and historic..It had to do with a bias toward the story. Obama was the best story." Scarborough had a differe

Are These Really The Women Of The Year?
Glamour Magazine held its 19th annual Women of the Year awards last night and after looking at the pictures, I’m left scratching my head. Nicole Kidman, Sarah Michelle Gellar, a bored Natalie Portman? I thought it was 2008, not 1999… But if these really are the “Women of the Year,” good thing it’s almost December. Year of the Comedienne
2008, the year of Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin, has also been the year of the comic actress in television and film. It’s not that comic actresses haven’t always been around, but I cannot think of another year in which so many comediennes were so prominently leading the comedy pack. Television has brought us Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Sarah Silverman, and Wanda Sykes, all of whom have also appeared successfully in films. (The opportunity to parody Palin and Clinton has been a godsend to Mss. Fey
