Sarah Palin: InStyle Magazine has a section of its website dedicated to "Hollywood Hair Makeovers" — you upload your picture, pick your hair and shudder in horror. An alert tipster sent our way a link to the newest options, which involves Sarah Palin, Cindy McCain, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama. Sadly, you have to have a headshot with your hair pulled back to use it effectively. Luckily, one of us (me) has a collection of candidate pictures on her hard drive and a (small) amount of time on her hands. So, after the jump, some iconic photos of Sadie McCain, Jessica Clinton, Dodai Palin and Megan Obama. Sadie sadly got the short end of this particular stick, as I would suggest that platinum blonde is probably not her shade. But, she does

The Christmas thing works for redheads clad in green (like Debra Messing — just mind the black bra for a sec), not for male golddiggers wearing a red ‘n’ green scarf … JUST BECAUSE. Then again, his entire existence is a “just because” to Mariah Carey. If you really love somebody, you don’t let that happen (see bottom). ('Sup.) Where Sarah Palin Got Her Hockey Mom Hair
Now that we've all had a chance to dissect Sarah Palin's grasp, such as it is, of energy issues, foreign policy and the definition of "maverick," we might as well talk about her hair. During the debate last night, it was impossible not to be mesmerised by her 'do, from the artful teasing on the top, to the reddish highlights, to those ultralong bangs (was that why she kept winking at us?) to that intriguing, loose-yet-immobile braid in the back. W magazine has learned that the Guv has been traveling with a

Sarah Palin and Cindy McCain's Secret Style Adviser Revealed
In September, Page Six reported that there might be a secret team of stylists behind vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin's sartorial selections. But today Liz Smith reports that there's just one woman, named Gahl Hodges Burt, responsible for those well-fitted skirt suits. Ms. Bart served as the "social secretary"—aka glorified party planner—to First Lady Nancy Reagan from 1983 to 1985. Richard Burt, Ms. Burt's husband, was the U.S. ambassador to Germany from 1985 to 1989 and continues to b

Estimates show Palin assets top $1 million
AP - Sarah Palin and her husband have pieced together a uniquely Alaskan income that reached comfortably into six figures even before she became governor, capitalizing on valuable fishing rights, a series of land deals and a patchwork of other ventures to build an above-average lifestyle. Add up the couple’s 2007 income and the estimated value of their property and investments and they appear to be worth at least $1.2 million. That would make the Palins, like Democratic vice presidential rival Joe Bi

When It Comes To Content, Words Get In The Way
There were so many things to read this morning! In particular, there was one story about a media company going up and another story about another media company going down. At the end of both, one was left with the sense that perhaps the trend toward listicles and charticles was not all a bad thing. Perhaps the future is all about sifting and sorting and curating! There was Talk of the Town editor Lauren Collins writing about Arianna Huffington in the New Yorker today. One might have felt a bit wary after

Hillary Clinton Bests Sarah Palin (in Poll)
It doesn't really matter, since neither is running for President, but a poll of 600 women nationwide found that female voters think Hillary Clinton is a "better mom, role model and leader" than vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Some stats: 61% prefer Clinton to Palin (27%) if the two women ran against each other in 2012 and 35% think Clinton is a better mother than Palin (24%). Pollster Mickey Blum explains to the Daily News, "Palin appeals to a much smaller group." And while the vice-presidenti

Hillary Clinton v Sarah Palin: Two-to-one
We may want to tuck this one away in the archives for that day, about two years from now, when people start thinking about the 2012 presidential election. Women favor Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton over Republican Gov. Sarah Palin by a margin of about two-to-one, a new poll shows. Asked about a theoretical match-up between the Democratic senator from New York and the Republican governor from Alaska - though, as long as we're talking about the theoretical here, she could be the Republican vice preside

Who Won The VP Debate? Biden Scores Big
During the course of the debate, CNN was running a viewer response line for uncommitted voters in Ohio. Overall the numbers reflected a very strong performance for Biden. And while Palin scored well, at times, among this crowd, the dial lines indicated that she remains a controversial figure among females in that state. Biden repeatedly won high accolades on a wide range of topics. His remarks about the personal trials of having a wife and daughter die in a car accident sent responses from both male and fe

Tina Fey Is Back For More
Tina Fey once again put on a pair of rimless glasses to play the hockey mom from Alaska Sarah Palin on last night's SNL. This time, Amy Poehler played the blink-happy and glossy-lipped Katie Couric. I didn't realize how blinky Katie was during the Palin interview until Amy pointed it out last night. Seriously. Katie needs to bathe her eyeballs in Visine. And when is Amy going to play Cindy McCain already?! She can hide her baby bump with a medicine cabinet. I'm waaaitttting... Above is the always amazing T

Elizabeth Hasselbeck: Elizabeth Hasselbeck update
Elizabeth Hasselbeck is voicing her displeasure with her co-hosts on the cast of “The View.” Hasselbeck was rumored to be upset over the interviews with the politicians like John McCain. Hasselbeck is a Republican and she is pi**ed over the way McCain and Cindy McCain were treated. Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar made pointed barbs on the Republican views. Whoopi Goldberg asked if she had reason to worry about becoming a slave again. This was her response to John McCain’s claim that he would appoint

John tells Mary he was very pleased with Palin's performance during the debate with Democratic VP candidate Joe Biden -- a broadcast that received the highest TV ratings in history for a VP debate. "Actually I wasn't too surprised. I

Don't Make Sherri Shephard Get Off In That Ass!
The past couple days of The View Hassleback has been ranting that Sen. Obama is a terrorist. I'm convinced Fox News gives her talking points for each segment. Babara Walters tried to calm things by saying we should focus on the issues, but Miss Hassle decided to grind. While Whoopi Goldberg has got into that ass on more than one occasion, it was now Sherri Shepherd's turn. The adhesive in her weave nearly melted off when she said, "What about the woman that McCain left that didn't even want him to know

Sherri Shepherd Got Smacked with the Smart Stick
Who knew that nearly a year of Elizabeth Hassleback could make a woman who was one of the most embarrassing Negroes of 2007, relentlessly state her case and saying the one thing mainstream media refuses to mention -- Sen. McCain abandoning his first wife for Cindy McCain. The past couple days of The View Hassleback has been ranting that Sen. Obama is a terrorist. I'm convinced Fox News gives her talking points for each segment. Babara Walters tried to calm things by saying we should focus on the issues, bu

Toronto Film Festival: Tuesday, September 9
Toronto Film Festival: Tuesday, September 9 Toronto Film Festival: Tuesday, September 9 “ELECTION ENVY?” a headline in some Canadian paper wondered yesterday. In case you don’t know, the Other-White-Meat Country is currently ramping up to an election of its own—pitting incumbent Conservative Stephen Harper, who looks like he once played Sandy Duncan’s boyfriend on a forgotten sitcom, against Liberal Stephane Dion, who apparently is not related to Celine. Elizabeth Hasselbeck Leaving the “View” for Fox News…Maybe
If you have ever seen ‘The View’ you know that Elisabeth Hasselbeckis a VERY staunch republican. Election ‘08: Which One Would You Do?
We know who our good pal Bobby D would select (and we agree). We¹re also pretty sure who Bubba wouldn't pick. We even know who'd want to be Jesus' chosen one. John McCain already made his choice. But, in the end, it¹s up to the country to decide. So, thanks to this clever fellow, you too can have your say. Which one would you do? Email Print Tags: Pop Culture, Fer
