Cloris Leachman Conjures Swinging Wig Hops Of The 1950s In Unhinged 'Dancing' Performance [Fear]

defamer.com - 7th Oct 2008

Cloris Leachman: newVideoPlayer("/cloriswig_def.flv", 506, 423,""); As far as nightmare-fueling Dancing with the Stars performances go, nothing in the sequence above even approaches Marie Osmond's legendary Baby Doll Dance of Despair—a harrowing journey into wind-up madness that to this day makes our left eyelid twitch whenever we hear the song "Start Me Up" or see the color pink. We'll extend that now to fuchsia, too, as it seems Cloris Leachman's hairpiece-malfunction-plagued rockabilly ballet has already burrowed itself into our subconscious; we hold it singularly responsible for what is sure to be a recurring Busby Berkeley-on-bad-acid fever dream, featuring our worm's-eye view of hundreds of spanky-pants-wearing octogenarians scissor-kicking around us in circle formation.Dancing With The Stars [ABC] Read full story at defamer.com

Dancing with the Stars: It should have been Cloris Leachman (again) but Kim Kardashian left the door open
Somehow foul-mouthed Cloris Leachman was spared another week (you people voting know who you are) and the next weakest dance link Kim Kardashian was let go. Some would disagree with me that Rocco DiSpirito should have gotten the ax after a poor dance Monday. But Roco has had a good dance or two in past performances and he engages the audience when he dances. Kim on the other hand gave the same wooden performance 3 straight times at least far as the judges were concerned.  For someone so in the spotlight i

DWTS' Cloris Leachman: "I Don't Have Any Worries" About Being Eliminated
Cloris Leachman hasn't exactly been a hit on Dancing With the Stars. (Judge Bruno Tonioli joked that she resembled her Young Frankenstein character while dancing the paso doble Monday night.) So is she fretting that she may get the boot on tonight's show? (Chef Rocco DiSpirito's fate on the show also remains questionable.) "I don't have any worries," Leachman, 82, told Usmagazine.com after Monday's show. "I'm planning on staying even if I have to go home." She joked that changing her hair from blo

Beat the Experts: Who Will Leave DWTS Tonight?
It's time to Beat the Experts, and it doesn't look like you guys are doing too well. Last week both you, the readers, and Vegas oddsmaker Benjamin Eckstein said Cloris Leachman would be going home, and I said it would be Rocco DiSpirito, so it looks like the score stands as zero-all. Let's see how we all fare this week. I was quite surprised by tonight's episode—everyone really stepped it up this week. I felt like I was watching semiprofessional dancers. The Water Diva (aka Warren Sapp) and Brooke Bu

Injured Misty May-Treanor leaves "Dancing With the Stars," Cloris Leachman loses her wig, Warren Sapp impresses
Here's a prediction: Warren Sapp is going to win "Dancing With the Stars." More on that later. Now to the news: Olympic gold-medalist Misty May-Treanor announced Monday night that she is leaving ABC's highest-rated show with a ruptured Achilles' tendon. But ABC won't reveal what her exit means until Tuesday's results show. (Thanks, ABC, for nothing.) And that results show will air at 8 p.m. on WFTV-Channel 9 because of the presidential debate at 9. At this point, Sapp and Brooke Burke loom as

Kim Kardashian is Eliminated from ‘Dancing with the Stars’
That’s right, Kim Kardashian-the girl who dates hotshot NFL star Reggie Bush, danced with the Pussycat Dolls, and posed for Playboy- just wasn’t able to bring sexy back on Monday and was eliminated from the Dancing with the Stars competition last night. She and partner Mark Ballas received lower votes than Cloris Leachman and Mark’s dad, Corky Ballas. Those eldery folks must really be voting hard! That’s It for “Team Kim”
Kim Kardashian turned on the waterworks after getting ejected from last night’s Dancing with the Stars, which also happened to be the five-year anniversary of her father’s death. Erg. Couldn’t they have given her a break (she’s gotten enough in life, why not one more?) and just sent Cloris Leachman home this week? I’m not a Kim fan, but it seemed kind of cruel. It’s no surprise that she took the news badly: “Once the cameras were off Kardashian rushed to the waitin

Dancing With the Stars 7: As Cold as Siberia…?
OK, I’m guilty of saying negative things about Kim Kardashian’s level of passion in her dance moves, but I wasn’t the one that did the most dissing this week! The judges were downright mean to her. The worst was Bruno Tonioli. He told her that her dancing was: …as cold and as distant as Siberia. Now THAT’S harsh! I am not surprised that she went home this week, I was surprised that Ted McGinley went home before her. But that’s no reason to be cruel. She was trying to

10/7 Dancing with the Stars Results. Who Went Home?
No one goes home tonight, because of the forced departure of Misty May-Treanor due to her injury, but the judges scores Will be additive next week, so the low couple at the bottom of the totem pole Will have ground to make up in the votes next week. It comes down to who “WOULD” have been going home rather than who Will… for now. In no particular order, they call out the names, only saying that the last couple has the lowest point total. 1. Brooke & Derek 2. Cloris and Corky (Please!)

Who got kicked off 'Dancing?'
As we suspected, no one was sent home on Dancing With The Stars Tuesday because Misty May-Treanor dropped out due to injury. But as no one would have ever guessed, Cloris Leachman was deemed safe early on. The bottom two were Lance Bass and Rocco DiSpirito (left). Rocco "would have gone home," said Tom Bergeron, but he got a reprieve thanks to Misty. He drew the lowest scores. In addition to the results, there was a performance by Jennifer Hudson, featuring brother and sister act, Derek and Jul

Dancing With the Stars 7: The Most Fun Dances This Week
This week’s performances were almost all very, very good for the second week. The judges highly favored both Brooke Burke & Warren Sapp, but I have to admit that one of my favorites was not the same. Yes, I thought Warren Sapp was fantastic and the routine that he and Kym Johnson did with a “Matrix-esque” feel, was so much fun, But Brooke Burke’s dance just didn’t WOW me this week. (I’m not a huge fan of the paso doble…it’s just not my favorite.) Here&
