The Bond Franchise has a rich history of finding unique ways to kill its Bond Girls. In the new film, Quantum of Solace, Gemma Arterton meets an end Exxon would be proud of. Gemma’s character, Agent Fields, is drowned in crude oil and her body is rested on a bed in a scene that pays homage to the 1964 Bond classic, Goldfinger. Arterton says of the covering in oil “I couldn’t move. I couldn’t see, I couldn’t breathe or hear because it went in my ears. It was unpleasant, but it’s something I’ll always remember and it will be an iconic part of the film.”
